One of the world’s biggest and most prominent anime events, AnimeJapan, is about to end. But we still cannot get over the announcements it has made.
Dubbed the 10th AnimeJapan 2023, the event has announced several things about anime, and mind you, they are bigger than the previous editions’. Here are the biggest announcements and the highlights during the event.
New title, license announcements
First in the category of new title and license announcements, “Ghost in the Shell” has been announced to get a compilation movie based on its second season. This is set to be released in 2023. Also, character designer Ilya Kuvshinov reveals a teaser visual of this anime.
Second, it was also announced during the ANIPLEX TIMES stage event at the Aniplex booth in the AnimeJapan2023 event that Daigo Murasaki’s award-winning cyberpunk fantasy novel “Demon Lord 2099,” – which was published from its light novel imprint Fantasia Bunko, will be adapted into an anime, at last. Along with this announcement, a teaser visual by the novel’s illustrator, Kureta, was also unveiled.
Fresh footage
The next category of announcements and highlights at AnimeJapan 2023 is all about fresh footage, beginning with “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
Fans got their first look at Goji and Geto’s Jujutsu High School life as the first trailer for the second season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” has been revealed. Also revealed were the new director, additional cast members, and the premiere date this July 6th. Are you excited?
Also a big announcement in this category is about the classic anime “Sailor Moon.” The climax to the “Sailor Mon” franchise will soon hit theaters in Japan in June in a two-part film titled “Sailor Moon Cosmos.”
The first part is premiering on June 9th, while the second releases on June 30th. A brand new trailer featuring the series’ final battle was unveiled during AnimeJapan 2023.
New visuals, cast additions
Then, the event also announced new visuals and cast additions for several anime. First, a new key visual for “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” was unveiled, and it features all the main characters in the poster.
There is also a new visual for favorite anime, “Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!” where, while the main cast leaps into action, it also features Tremolo Ryugu and Phaser Ryugu front and center.
Games
But wait, there’s more. AnimeJapan 2023 also did not miss revealing about anime and games, such as Square Enix’s “Ketsugō Danshi: Elements with Emotions,” unveiling its June 29th launch, manga, and novel.

Furthermore, the voice actors of “My Hero Academia” also described their characters’ sixth season arcs in one word.
