Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Announced for Mobile Devices

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a Metroidvania type of video game that was initially released in 2019 for both PC and consoles. Developed by ArtPlay, the title began as a Kickstarter project that was able to garner a massive $5.5 million from its supporters.

Now, it appears that Bloodstained continues to stay afloat in the saturated video game market. Publisher NetEase Games recently announced that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is making its way to both iOS and Android devices at some point in the near future.

According to the publisher, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will not be a free-to-play title. Although, this doesn’t really come as a surprise because the other versions of the game (e.g. the Steam version and the game’s other platforms) were also premium titles and players had to purchase it in order to play.

That being said, NetEase Games has yet to reveal the regions where the mobile version of Bloodstained will be available, as well as when the release date will be.

However, it’s worth noting that the publisher specifically mentioned that an English language release is currently being worked on as well, so it’s safe to assume that the title will most likely be launched to the west.

In addition to that, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s mobile version will have a new UI that’s meant to make the game easier and smoother to control on a smartphone. Similar to other mobile titles, there will be on-screen buttons for players to press in order to control the character.

Not only that, but potential players of the mobile version will have their very own achievement system. The mobile players won’t have to worry about missing out on any content because all the features found on the original version will also be available on the mobile port.

Following Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s release, the title gathered a slew of positive reactions and reviews from its players, mostly because the game’s heroine, Miriam, is considered by fans to be one of the most excellent characters of last year.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was also released on the Nintendo Switch, and was considered to be a massive hit. As a matter of fact, the Switch sales for the game far exceeded the developer’s expectations.

As such, it doesn’t come as a surprise that fans have been excited about this news. You can watch the game’s story trailer above, and while it’s not exactly a video specifically made for the mobile release, it provides players with a pretty good idea about what the upcoming mobile port will provide its fans.

On the other hand, there are some fans who are a bit skeptical about Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night being released on mobile.

For one thing, it’s assumed to be a heavy game, so we have yet to see how the mobile platform will handle the title. Especially since fans have been complaining about Bloodstained’s performance issues on the Switch even after receiving multiple updates that were supposed to help with that.
