Although many celebrities have released non-fungible token (NFT) collections of their own, some collections from other groups or organizations feature a couple of world-renowned and well-loved persons who are no longer with us today. For instance, some NFT collections feature big names such as Kurt Cobain, Elvis, Jerry Garcia, Tupac, Muhammad Ali, and more.

This upcoming Saturday, it seems that martial arts icon Bruce Lee will also be joining this list, as his family and Ethernity are working together to release an NFT collection dedicated to Bruce Lee entitled “The Formless Form.”

Bruce Lee is an incredibly popular pop culture icon, as we know him to be many things: a martial artist and martial arts instructor, philosopher, and film star. Lee is renowned across the globe for his awe-inspiring martial arts style, not to mention his many starring roles in countless martial arts films.

Needless to say that he is an icon indeed.

The Bruce Lee Family Company and the NFT protocol Ethernity will be launching Bruce Lee’s first NFT collection this upcoming January 8, 2022. This collection aims to commemorate “the life and legacy” of Bruce Lee and all he has done during his lifetime.

According to the official announcement, they took inspiration for the collection from Lee’s philosophy and teachings. As for the different artworks, they’re from famous artists like Anthony Francisco, Bosslogic, and Raf Grassetti. Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, who is also the chairwoman and CEO of the Bruce Lee Family Company, mentions how her father “believed in honest self-expression.”

NFTs & Renowned Stars

Bruce Lee isn’t the only star being commemorated via NFTs. In May 2021, the Jerry Garcia Foundation launched an NFT auction featuring the late guitarist’s art. In the same week, Muhammad Ali Enterprises (MAE) and Ethernity worked with each other to release the first-ever NFT collection dedicated to Muhammad Ali. Not only that, Sotheby’s turned one of Muhammad Ali’s never-before-seen artworks into NFT, auctioning it off at the end of July.

It doesn’t end there, folks. In April 2021, exclusive photos that no one has seen before from Kurt Cobain’s last photoshoot were converted into NFTs. And in December of the same year, Makersplace released an NFT collection inspired by Tupac Shakur’s most popular jewelry.

Ethernity’s CEO and founder, Nick Rose, said during the announcement that their team is excited to offer fans of Bruce Lee the new NFT collection.
