Evil Geniuses CEO Peter 'ppd' Dager took to Twitter today to make a number of announcements for Evil Geniuses in 2017.
The most shocking of these announcements was the release of legendary fighting game players Justin Wong, Eduardo 'PR Balrog' Perez, Yusuke Momochi, and Yuko 'Chocoblanka' Momochi. In the shakeup, PPD announced that Evil Geniuses would be signing Chris 'NYChrisG' Gonzalez to their fighting game division in anticipation of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite's release later this year.
It was also announced that Evil Geniuses' Super Smash Bros Melee player Kevin 'PPMD' Nanney would be rejoining the scene after a health related break.
Lastly, Evil Geniuses announced that they're stepping out of the StarCraft II scene after releasing veterans Geoff 'InControL' Robertson and Chris 'HuK' Loranger - both players who were relatively inactive competitively.
Justin Wong, PR Balrog, and Momochi should not be free agents for long - they are among the most well known FGC players in recent years, with Wong in particular being a hot commodity with MvC Infinite releasing later this year (not to mention his Street Fighter V prowess).
Update: As it was pointed out to us, PR Balrog announced his plans a few weeks ago on his YouTube channel:
