We're all very aware of your... issues with homosexuality. Your 2013 law to ban "gay propaganda" from influencing your apparently extremely impressionable minors kind of made that inarguable. Your recent protest against, of all things, rainbow laces showing up in FIFA 17 made it explicit that you were putting a hard foot down on anything that could possibly be construed as "nontraditional."
Sure, it doesn't make sense to anybody reasonable why you'd want to further alienate demographics that already suffer oppression, persecution, or in the case of the transgendered community a soul-withering 41% suicide rate thanks to societal pressures. But as your Olympian MP Irina Rodnina said: “Every state has its internal laws and order; they need to be obeyed.”
Well, far be it for us to be anarchists and sow discord and chaos among your citizenry. But if you're going to weed out every subversive instance of progressivism, every possible challenge to your ideals of Russian conformity, you're going to have to put your foot down on a whole lot more than DLC rainbows in one game. Anarchists infamously exist in every instance of online communities. Their nefarious propagandas show up in seemingly every form of media.
Is that CS:GO player admiring an expensive skin, or the psychosexual anti-Russian context of a rainbow shiv in the hands of a rebel piercing the state's law enforcement?
Is League of Legends' Elementalist Lux just another capitalistic cash-in by an American business, or does her many-hued forms hint at an insidious ideology, pushing a narrative where self-identity is more important than the formalities of tradition?
Is Rainbow Road progressivism's insidious and slippery path down damnation, its winding and curving paths plotting to send you hurtling into the voids of hell?!
Actually, that would probably make Nintendo an ally of the state.
Still, better be safe than sorry. Ban it all. Ban the consoles. Ban the publishers. Russian purity takes precedence over all, and the citizenry cannot be trusted to uphold their own ideals.
Nothing could possibly go wrong from this.
