Ubisoft just announced the total beta numbers for For Honor now that it's ended - and it's pretty impressive for a new IP.
The game's beta played host to six million players - a new record for an Ubisoft title on PC, three million of which played over the last open beta weekend. For Honor players also logged two billion minutes played across all three of the game's release platforms.
The numbers don't hold up quite as well when compared to other recent large-scale, triple A betas though. Battlefield 1 currently holds the record for largest beta of all time at 13.2m, with Overwatch following at 9.7m.
It's worth pointing out that a large beta does not necessarily guarantee success for a game: Battlefront hosted 9.5m players and is very rarely discussed in gaming spheres these days.
If you've just picked up For Honor, you may be looking for some advanced techniques for the game. You're in luck, as PVP Live's Greg Ibanez has spent a ton of time in the beta and came back with some guides on parrying and other advanced techniques.
