Blizzard's changed up the way their WoW tokens work, allowing players to farm World of Warcraft gold and apply it towards credit for Overwatch loot boxes, Heroes of the Storm character unlocks and Hearthstone cards.
The WoW Token existed before, allowing for the conversion of gold into game time, but now it can be converted into Battle.net balance.
The tokens were introduced to WoW to give players a way to buy subscription time for in-game while giving others a more regulated way to buy WoW gold from third-party website.
A player who needs World of Warcraft gold can buy a WoW Token for $20 in cash then sell it on the Auction House. Currently, the asking price on our WoW server was around 62,000 gold to buy a token, which coverts into game time or $15 worth of Battle.net balance. For the player that has gold to spare, it's a great deal that either saves them on their subscription or gets them some sick loot in a game of their choice.
So if you've got a ton of gold sitting around in WoW you want to turn into Overwatch items - hop to it.
