Just yesterday, rumors surfaced of a collaboration between Pokemon GO and telecom provider Sprint in preparation for the holidays. Today, those rumors are confirmed.
Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Radioshack locations across the US will now be registered as new Pokestops and Gyms -- and, as a bonus, those locations will now feature in-store charging stations. Possibly as acknowledgment that the game has a tendency to suck batteries dry.
Conveniently, you can probably buy spare batteries at Sprint too.
A further press briefing between Niantic Labs and Sprint, as hinted earlier by VentureBeat, may yet happen as of the time of this writing. And while there's yet no confirmation as to other partnerships, the official brand-wide Pokemon account has announced that details about Pokemon GO's Generation 2 plans will be announced on December 12th.
More gyms, more stops, more Pokemon. That's a lot of walking around to do this winter.
