New job postings from Pokemon developer Game Freak, as translated by Kotaku's Brian Ashcraft, lends credence to reports from last year that a new version of the most recent entries in the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Sun and Moon, will be coming to the Switch under the title Pokemon Star.
The recent job posting is a character modeler wanted for a new title - with the contract lasting until May 2018. Game Freak wants someone who is experienced in making characters for Wii U and PS Vita, as well as folks experienced in making 'exaggerated toon style people, monsters, and item models.
Game Freak's also on the hunt for a 3D CG designer, and this one is a little more telling: “Your chance to get involved with developing an RPG that’s popular worldwide.” Franchises don't get much more popular than Pokemon, and certainly none other than Pokemon that are in Game Freak's stable.
While Game Freak does make other franchises, there are reports circulating in Japan that this is connected to Pokemon Sun and Moon switch versions. However, Nintendo's yet to confirm the reports.
According to VGChartz, Pokemon Sun and Moon has sold 12.94m units worldwide, and could easily prove to be another system seller for the Nintendo Switch. The Switch itself is already off to a strong start, with Nintendo responding to demand by reportedly doubling production of the portable/home console hybrid.
