Sprint is joining forces with the talent behind Pokémon Go with plans to reveal a special announcement in conjunction with the mobile developer. VentureBeat has learned that full details of the partnership will be disclosed tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. when Sprint and Niantic Labs will be hosting a press conference that tie into both companies.
While the possibilities are fairly endless on what Sprint may have planned, we speculate they may introduce an exclusive mobile phone that includes premium content for Pokémon Go, or hopefully some other type of notable incentive that will appeal to avid fans. Personally I think many people would probably dig a Pikachu-themed device. That could become quite the collectible one day.
While there’s been no official date set for the second generation, it’s possible that the developer is looking to ramp up with some aggressive marketing initiatives. On a related note, Niantic is reportedly looking to announce another partnership that involves coffee mogul Starbucks as well.
We’ll eventually find out how all of these new developments will directly benefit Pokemon fans within the next several hours.
