After news that Kespa's ProLeague is at an end, SK Telecom has officially disbanded their StarCraft division.
The team confirmed that the move was due to being unable to find sponsors to back their StarCraft II division for the 2017 season. The players will still play under the SK Telecom banner for the remainder of 2016.
Several of the team's players will be either retiring or moving on to new games. Kim 'Sorry' Ji Sung and Kim 'Impact' Joon Hyuk have retired from pro gaming, while Kim 'MyuNgSik' Myung Sik and Park 'Zoun' Han Sol will move on to other games. Myungsik is currently playing for Team First Heroic's Overwatch roster.
The remainder of SKT's roster, including Classic, Dark, Dream, SoO, and Innovation will become free agents in the 2017 season.
