In the past several days, SoCal Regionals founder Alex Valle has been actively teasing the community that this will be one of the finest annual events to date. Previously the event wasn't generating quite as much fanfare as expected, as reports began to circulate that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom and Killer Instinct would not be part of the main tournament lineup.
Well, break out the confetti and party favors as Valle officially announced moments ago on Twitter that both games are back on the program.
This year, all the tournament action will be held in the lavish Esports Arena — home of Wednesday Night Fights and the Red Bull Proving Ground event known as Vanguard.
Although there were some initial concerns about space, Valle has reassured attendees that they'll be fully equipped to accept the masses.
SoCal Regionals is an official CPT premier destination, which is destined to have a ton of notable players in attendance gunning for a shot at securing a Capcom Cup berth. But the lineup will also support a broad selection of top fighting games like Super Smash Bros. Melee, Smash 4, Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, and The King of Fighters XIV.
