Recently Niantic Labs announced a partnership with Sprint, followed by Starbucks within the same week, giving Pokémon trainers an even greater selection of locations that serve as PokéStops and gathering locations.
Per the company's announcement, Niantic Labs reports that their campaign now offers players over 18,300 destinations that support the mobile game, and additionally noted that sponsored locations will not appear in the game for players who are under the age of 13.
Niantic Labs explains that while they’re thrilled by the fact the game is enjoyed by many families, their main objective is to ensure a safe, wholesome experience for all users. Considering previous incidents that affected users in the past, it’s good to see the company is taking steps to minimize further incidents from occurring in the future.
While no additional specifics were offered, Niantic Labs hinted that more details will be announced in the near future, which suggests more sponsored locations may be in the works.
