Here’s everything you need to know about Elden Ring, the action RPG created by From Software and George R.R. Martin.

Elden Ring is almost here and we’ve learned a lot more about the next FromSoftware Soulslike game. FromSoftware mostly went silent after its initial reveal at E3 in 2019 to focus on Elden Ring. It returned in June 2021 with a big gameplay announcement, and we’ve been treated to a slew of fresh information since then.

Here’s what we know about Elden Ring, including when it’ll be released and how it’ll look. We spent a lot of time delving into the trailer, getting quotes from the devs, and learning everything there is to know about the gameplay. You may also read our early observations from our hands-on with Elden Ring’s first few hours.

  • A sketched map of the world on which you can insert your own markings.

  • Invasions are now available in PvP mode, although you may not be able to invade people who are in single-player.

Here’s the latest news on Elden Ring

  • Elden Ring’s system requirements have been released, and they include a generous 16GB of RAM.
  • Elden Ring has a security issue, according to FromSoftware.
  • The security flaws discovered in the Souls games will keep their servers offline until the release.

How long is Elden Ring?

Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao revealed the main campaign’s length in a recorded presentation at the 2022 Taipei Game Show. This will vary substantially depending on the player, but in terms of the development goals, the primary route should be able to be completed in roughly 30 hours. The game as a whole is fairly large and has dozens of additional hours of gameplay, but if we’re just talking about the primary route, it shouldn’t take much longer.

What is Elden Ring’s combat like?

Combat appears to be akin to the Souls games based on what we saw in Elden Ring’s gameplay trailer and what we’ve personally played, which isn’t a terrible thing. We enjoy playing Souls games.

Elden Ring’s combat is similar to what we’ve seen from From before in terms of action RPGs. There are a lot of big bosses. Dodge rolling, backstabbing, blocking, and casting spells are all possible strategies. The fighting animations are also recognizable. FromSoftware states of the stamina system, “The stamina bar exists in Elden Ring, but we believe it has a less overall influence on the player.” We wanted it to feel less constricting.

Which Elden Ring classes can you play?

Elden Ring’s player classes have been revealed by FromSoftware, and they, like the combat, look quite familiar. We expect these classes to dictate your starting gear and stats, as they have in previous Souls games, but you’ll likely have a lot of choices after you get started. Elden Ring’s construction customization will be significantly more varied than previously, according to game director Hidetaka Miyazaki.

Here are the classes we know about:

  • Warrior
  • Enchanted knight
  • Prophet
  • Champion
  • Bloody wolf
  • Prisoner
  • Bandit
  • Astrologer
  • Vagabond
  • Hero
  • Confessor
  • Samurai

Is Elden Ring multipl@ayer?

Yes! Co-op for up to four players has been confirmed by Elden Ring. Based on what we’ve seen so far, it appears that you’ll be able to summon your pals for co-op and that they’ll appear as phantoms, similar to the Souls games.

Invasions are also back, however, there may be some additional limits. According to recent previews, you won’t be able to invade a solitary player; only those who are currently co-opping will be invaded.

It’s going to be an epic experience, but until it’s out you can satisfy your fantasy games itch with other titles from FromSoftware like Dark souls 3, Sekiro, or other games like rainbow riches, or The Witcher.
