Far Cry 6 Will Have A Cockfighting Mini Game

Far Cry 6 will be the newest installment in Ubisoft’s long-running open-world gaming franchise about defying tyrannical authorities. The entire Far Cry 6 trophy list has been published, and although many of the awards appear to be enjoyable, a handful are puzzling.

Recrooster is one of them, and it transports Far Cry 6 gamers to gather all roosters. This appears to be an odd assignment, as roosters aren’t the first thing people think of as collectibles in a Far Cry game unless they’re for food. But it turns out they’re for something totally different: a mind-boggling mini-game.

A cockfighting mini-game is included in Far Cry 6. It’s hardly unexpected that the cruel and sometimes illegal sport makes a cameo, given that Far Cry titles aren’t usually set in locations where laws are strictly enforced. What’s remarkable is that players don’t merely buy roosters to engage in a game of chance; they really control their selected rooster in the mini-game itself.

This appears to be a mini-game that will appear often throughout the game, however, whether players will be able to confront Far Cry 6’s frightening villain in a battle is unclear and doubtful.

The mini-game is simply a 2.5D fighting game with simple controls. Players have two attacks: a close-range combo assault and a long-range distance closer attack. To evade opposing strikes, the rooster can also dodge in one of four ways.

Roosters may perform a special assault that inflicts a lot of damage after constructing a special meeter. Benchmark testing suggests that PCs may struggle to run Far Cry 6, although the combat itself appears to be quite fluid. Fights are best-of-three, with no rooster dying.

There are several roosters to gather, however as the Recrooster accomplishment implies, they must be collected throughout the game. The method changes from rooster to rooster, however, it is presently unknown whether their stats and attack/defense options alter as well. Some are only accessible through Ubisoft Connect rewards, but they don’t necessitate purchasing the new, costly Far Cry 6 watch.

There are many unanswered concerns regarding this style, not the least of which is what kind of debate it will elicit. And, of course, there’s the matter of whether or not the Stranger Things DLC will include otherworldly roosters.
