Fate/Grand Order—a Japanese mobile title—has been under the spotlight recently, so much so that it was able to reach millions of downloads last year. Last month, players of the game participated in the Valentine’s 2021 event, which was exciting because it featured voiced cutscenes and introduced a brand-new servant named Murasaki Shikibu. This time around, the mobile title has announced “An Old Spider Spins Webs of Memory,” a new limited-time event in celebration of Japan’s White Day.
For those who don’t know, White Day is a special day in Japan that’s directly related to Valentine’s Day. In fact, one could describe it as a sequel to the yearly event. In Japan and other Asian places, women give chocolate or other heartfelt gifts to the special men in their lives. A month later, particularly on March 14, White Day is thus celebrated.
In Fate/Grand Order’s upcoming White Day event, players will be able to encounter and partner up with Professor James Moriarty, the infamous rival of the brilliant Sherlock Holmes. This isn’t to say that he’s brand-new to the game—James Moriarty was first introduced to the mobile title in 2019, specifically during the game’s Epic of Remnant story expansion entitled “Pseudo-Singularity I: Shinjuku Phantom Incident.”
For this upcoming event, players will be transported back to the late 19th-century Europe because of a forced Rayshift, which is a time period when Sherlock Holmes, James Moriarty, and the other characters from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s mystery novels are from. Once players obtain enough event items which can be acquired via quests, they will be able to receive Moriarty’s Spiritron Dress Wardrobe Key. Obtaining this will unlock a brand-new outfit of skin for the character.
This White Day event is scheduled to go live as soon as the Fate/Extra CCC rerun event concludes. Seeing as this upcoming event will coincide with White Day, all the players’ Male Servants will receive a 50% attack bonus. However, it’s worth knowing that this will only apply to event quests that are a part of “An Old Spider Spins the Webs of Memory.”
Among other things, players can also look forward to a special Chaldea Boys Collection. This exciting collection will contain limited-time craft essences, so it’s definitely worth checking out as soon as it becomes available.
Fate/Grand Order players will be able to find event quests for this in the in-game Terminal, while new sections will be made available on a daily basis. As for the Chaldea Boys collection and Moriarty’s event, these two will both begin on March 8. However, they will not conclude on the same date. The former is scheduled to end on March 17, while the latter will only last until March 15.
