Here are two very interesting pieces of news about Samsung right now. First, speculators are saying the soon-to-launch Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 can be able to run Google Maps on its cover display, along with other apps.

Second, yoga practitioners can now have better yoga practices with the help of Samsung’s smart TVs and more. Read on for the details.

Google Maps on Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover display

As we inch closer and closer to the launch of the brand-new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, more speculations about its capabilities are coming out in droves right now than in the past few days.

You may also have heard that this upcoming smartphone is said to have a larger cover display, from the tiny 1.9 inches of its predecessor to 3.4 inches, making it possible to run apps on the cover display (not just basic widgets), such as Google Maps.

However, as of press time, it is still unclear which of Google Maps’ functionalities will be available with the device closed. It could be the entire app, just like what happens in Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, or something trimmed down.

It is interesting to note that Google Maps’ UI met with issues on that Motorola Razr as it did not go well around its camera punch holes. Speculators are saying this could be an issue, too, for the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Aside from Google Maps, other apps like Messages and YouTube will also be seen on the cover display.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is laden with various impressive features. According to a reliable leaker, Yogesh Brar, the upcoming smartphone will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display inside, 8GB of RAM, 128 or 256GB of internal storage, and a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and standard Qi-compatible wireless charging.

As for the camera, it will have a 12MP main camera and an ultrawide lens at 12MP as well.

Samsung Galaxy Flip 5 is launching with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 this August 2023. However, Samsung recently confirmed that this new set of foldable phones will be launched in Seoul, South Korea, the company’s headquarters, earlier, particularly next month.

Yoga on TV

Are you a yoga practitioner always conscious about whether you are doing the poses right? Well, now, you can do those poses correctly, letting you enjoy all the benefits of the exercise.

Samsung has recently partnered with Wellnesys’ smart yoga training solution, YogiFi, so practitioners can use YogiFi’s smart yoga mats and app, together with Samsung smart TVs, to get real-time feedback on their yoga poses. YogiFi’s smart yoga mats are the world’s first artificial intelligence-enabled yoga mats.

“Our partnership with YogiFi to make yoga more accessible for consumers is a part of our vision to bring calm to the connected world so that devices and innovation can enable better, more personal, and more intuitive multi-device experiences,” Dipesh Shah, Samsung’s Head of India Consumer Experience Team, said.

Equipped with sensors, the AI-powered yoga mat from YogiFi can detect any incorrect pose and provide instant feedback to the yoga practitioner.

Meanwhile, YogiFi’s app, which runs on Samsung’s smart TVs, provides guided glasses, personalized sessions, and wellness monitoring, apart from the real-time feedback.

The YogiFi app will be accessible on Samsung’s OLED TV, Neo QLED 4K and 8K TVs, and Crystal 4K UHD TV range, among others.

“By partnering with Samsung, a pioneer in the television segment, we aspire to elevate the at-home yoga experience for every individual and maximize the impact of our mission to create a healthy community with stronger immunity,” Muralidhar Somisetty, Wellnesys India founder and CEO, said.
