Previously, PVP Live reported everything it knows about “Hogwarts Legacy 2.” Yes, the sequel to the beloved game launched over a year ago. This time, more details are unfolding about this rumored sequel, including insights that it must take inspiration from “God of War” should it introduce this fantastic feature in the game.

Live-service game?

“Hogwarts Legacy” is downright phenomenal. Its success is beyond imagination. This game is not the only game inspired by the “Harry Potter” series, but “Hogwarts Legacy” is a standout.

It was praised for its depth and detail on how it explores the wizarding world of Harry Potter, offering the most intricate portrayal of Hogwarts the gaming world has never seen before. It even adds elements, such as taking the players back in time to the late 19th century.

In its previous report, PVP Live mentioned new jobs being posted on Avalanche Software, the developer behind “Hogwarts Legacy,” suggesting that a new game is in the works.

But you should get more excited as new reports say this sequel can feature live-service gaming.

This is what JB Perrette of Warner Bros. Discover discussed when he commented on “Suicide Squad,” citing “Hogwarts Legacy” on the side.

He said, “Live services […] Rather than just launching a one-and-done console game, how do [we] develop a game around, for example, ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ that is a live service where people can live and build and play in that world on an ongoing basis?”

Take inspiration from ‘God of War’

So, the hopes of gamers about this sequel is high, especially that there are important features not present in the current game, such as the ability to cast a Patronus and the Quidditch game. What a miss, right?

In the “Harry Potter” novel and movies, a Patronus is a type of ghostly magical guardian that wizards and witches can summon. It appears as an anthropomorphic animal representation of their warmest emotions. Patronuses are used, for example, to ward off Dementors or creatures that engulf somebody’s happiest thoughts.

If the Patronus were to be introduced in the sequel, gaming experts say that “Hogwarts Legacy 2” should take inspiration from “God of War.”

“God of War” is a fantasy action-adventure game franchise that David Jaffe created and Santa Monica Studio developed.

Insiders say that in addition to being able to choose the animal form of their Patronus, players of “Hogwarts Legacy 2” should also be able to control the animal in-game. In “God of War Ragnarök,” Atreus, the Norse God of Mischief, was able to shift into a bear and wolf throughout the game.

Allowing players to control their Patronuses offers a deeper level of understanding and immersion. “Hogwarts Legacy 2” must take a page from “God of War” in this way.
