Whenever you find the main quests in “Hogwarts Legacy” a little bit too monotonous for you, you can feel free to shift and work on the game’s Side Quests. These quests will reward you with items you can use throughout your adventures.

One of the most exciting Side Quests in “Hogwarts Legacy” is the Solved by the Bell side quest. Solved by the Bell is an optional Side Quest in this game that you can participate in once you collect the Magical Map found within Henrietta’s Hideaway in the Manor Cape Region. You can identify this map as that with a mysterious location, bells, and some musical notes.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on completing the Solved by the Bell Side Quest.

How To Launch The Solved By The Bell Side Quest

Before accessing the quest, you must first head to Henrietta’s  Hideaway. This place is situated on the Manor Cape peninsula’s southeastern tip. But note that the ruins above Henrietta’s Hideaway are heavily guarded by a small army of Ashwinders, including the Infamous Foe, Dunstan Trinity, so take extra caution as you head to this area. To find the entrance to Henrietta’s Hideaway, follow the southeast path, then turn left. The entrance is at the bottom of the steps.

As soon as you are in Henrietta’s Hideaway, you will be asked to solve a puzzle. To do so, turn toward the left reaper statue and use either Incendio or Confringo to light the brazier located in front of the statue. The statue will then turn and reveal a block. Cast the Windgardium Leviosa spell to place the block on its corresponding pedestal before the door. Then, cast Incendio or Confringo on the block to the left, then use Glacius on the block on the right platform.

Doing so opens the door, but before you get in, be sure you light the brazier in front of the statue on the right to reveal a chest filled with Gear.

Once you are through the door, you will enter an atrium filled with Ashwinders. You can fight your way through them or cast the Disillusionment Spell instead to sneak past them. But note that no matter what approach you use, you must cast the Revelio spell to mark all enemies and loot around the area. Then, proceed to the staircase to the left of the central statue. Right from the top, turn right and continue following the pathway across the balcony.

Soon, you will reach a magical floor that teleports you backward once you step on it. To get past this tricky part, you need to use any of these options:

  • The first option – Lure an enemy to the floor or pull them on it by using Accio before you cross quickly. With the bait being teleported instead of you, the floor cannot teleport you provided that you are fast enough. This option is more complex than the other options coming up next.
  • The second option – Cast Wingardium Leviosa to place an object, instead of an enemy earlier, onto the trap floor before you quickly cross.
  • The third option – If you have finished Madam Kogawa’s Second Assignment, you can cast Arresto Momentum to prevent the trap floor from teleporting you. This is, by far, the easiest option, but of course, completing Madam Kogawa’s Second Assignment is a requirement here.

After clearing the tricky trap floor part, you will find yourself in a new area filled with more Ashwinders. Manually take them down or use the Disillusionment Spell to sneak past them. Then, proceed to the odd-looking wall under the southern balcony.

Approaching this wall will automatically reveal a hidden entrance. Enter here, then look to your left to find the Musical Map sitting on a table near some candles. You can then begin this Side Quest.

Where To Find The Solved By The Bell Puzzle

The Solved by the Bell puzzle shown on the Magical Map can be located within the Clagmar Castle ruins in the Clagmar Coast region.

The castle is also rife with Ashwinders. You need to cast spells to solve this puzzle, but this can attract unwanted attention that will hinder you from moving forward. So, you can first take down the enemies before proceeding to the bells on the castle’s western side.

To complete this quest, you must hit the bells with the Basic Cast. Follow this order:

  1. Second from the bottom
  2. Fifth from the top
  3. Third from the top
  4. Fourth from the top
  5. Fifth from the top
  6. Top bell
  7. Second from the top
  8. Fourth from the top

Hitting the bells in this order plays the tune of “Harry Potter” theme in the movies. A chest will eventually spawn to your left. Open the chest and collect your reward.
