Catching rare shinies like that monster in “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” is a bit challenging for most players, with some taking several hours in the game to get them. But not with this player who happened to obtain the Three-Segment form of Dudunsparce within just five minutes. Here’s the story.
‘Very lucky’
Though Shiny Pokémons are some of the most sought-after species in the game, some shinies are just rarer than others.
The recently launched Teal Mask DLC for “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” is receiving great love from players because of its gripping plot, Area Zero connections, new Legendaries, and updates to the graphics of various shiny Pokémons, among others.
With several shiny species looking better than ever with the DLC, fans are yearning to capture them, such as the Three-Segment form of Dudunsparce.
And this “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” player succeeded in this.
The player, who goes by the username BraumdaRum on Reddit, shared a screenshot of the rare shiny Three-Segment Dudunsparce they captured in the game with its Teal Mask DLC.
“[I] must be very lucky!!!” the player said on Reddit. “Like I said, I was just circling around in the pool in the cave, trying to filter out a shiny Feebas, no shiny sandwich, at full shiny charm odds. The first shiny to pop out was a Cleffa. Then this drill-tailed beauty showed up five minutes later or so.”
What the gaming community is saying
Of course, with such a rare feat, BraumdaRum is getting praise from various players of the game.
Many of those in the Reddit comments section brought up a YouTuber named Shiny Catherine, who they said took 300 attempts to finally get the Three-Segment Dudunsparce that BraumdaRum got.
“Catherine is a Pokemon YouTuber who was trying to shiny hunt a three-segment. She caught 300 shiny Dunsparse and got two with rare marks before she got a three-segment one,” a Redditor pointed out.
“CATHERINE ON YT MUST BE CRYING (emojis),” wrote Silver_Aura2424.
The YouTuber, apparently also on Reddit as ShinyCatherine, stepped up to show what they think, commenting, “That’s INSANE dude you’re crazy lucky!”
In the game, some Dudunsparce have the Three-Segment form, characterized by its additional body segment after the head. This segment also features three blue stripes and a pair of three-featured wings.
