Developed by Endnight Games and published by Newnight, “Sons of the Forest” is a video game of the survival genre. Here, players take control of a protagonist stranded on an island where cannibals reside. They can build weapons and buildings to help them survive the horror.
The game is the sequel to “The Forest,” launched in 2018. “Sons of the Forest” was released via early access for Microsoft Windows on Steam last February.
But, it has not made its way to consoles like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
Will the popular game be playable on those consoles in the future? Gamers are hopeful and saying those consoles’ features can make it an even better game.
Will It Be Launched On Consoles?
There’s good news and bad news here. First, the bad news. As of press time, the game’s release for consoles has not yet been officially announced for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or even for Nintendo Switch.
The good news is, the developers of the game are not shutting their doors on this one.
Endnight Games participated in an interview with Gaming Bolt late last year. They said, “We would love to come to console in the future, but are currently focused on delivering the best experience possible to PC players.”
You may also want to anchor your hopes to what happened with its prequel, “The Forest.” This game initially dropped as a PC exclusive in April 2018 but then came to PlayStation 4 in November that same year.
PlayStation 5’s Features Would Be A Game-Changer For ‘Sons Of The Forest’
Some gamers are also sharing their insights on how some features of PlayStation 5 could prove a game-changer for “Sons of the Forest.”
First, the console’s DualSense controller, which features adaptive triggers and various haptic feedback levels, could give players better immersion into the game. The combat, building, traversal, and crafting would introduce a “unique feel” with that feature.
Also, they are saying that “Sons of the Forest” would be a perfect game for the PlayStation VR2 since players spend considerable time crafting items and combatting enemies from a first-person perspective.
How about you? Are you also expectant to see the game coming to consoles? Feel free to share this story around.
