The people behind the “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear” anime announced on Wednesday that the second season, titled “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!,” which is based on Kumanano and 029’s “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear” light novels, will premiere this April 3rd on the Tokyo MX, AT-X, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11 channels. However, this brand-new season will first launch on AT-X at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
“Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!” is based on the Japanese light novel series “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear,” written by Kumanano and illustrated by 029. It was in 2014 when it started serialization online on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Later on, it was acquired by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha, who have published 19 volumes since May 2015 under their PASH!
Season 2 plot
The first season focused on the story of Yuna, a 15-year-old billionaire who confined herself to her room while playing the world’s first VRMMO, called World Fantasy Online.
After almost a year of playing the online game, its administrators gifted Yuna a somewhat embarrassing costume of a bear. Nonetheless, the suit has given her powerful stats and boosted her abilities.
But here’s the twist. Upon accepting the present, she was transported to the world of the game. Unable to return to her real world, she embarked on an adventure in the City of Crimonia and rescued Fina, a little girl who became her guide and partner. Together, they journey in this alter-word as Yuna wore the bear suit that gave her unexpected fame, fighting prowess and the reputation as the “Bloody Bear.”
For the upcoming season two, fans are assuming that the anime will be based on the fifth volume of the Japanese light novel series where it is based upon.
While the previous season revolved around meeting Fina, “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!” will tell more about the world where Yuna is now situated.
After combatting and beating a Kraken, Yuna is off to a bigger and more remarkable adventure. The duo and their friends will create a tunnel connecting Crimea and Millela.
This tunnel will ensure that commerce and trade will be efficient between the city and the port. The young billionaire and stock trader will also bring their business-mindedness into the game as they aim to open a restaurant.
Sounds exciting? It really is. Expect a lot of new characters, more encounters of the girls in the alter-world, and Yuna’s panchi that would make everybody smile in this world filled with dread.
