Yuji Itadori of “Jujutsu Kaisen” is the anime’s hero. Brace yourself for some weird stuff, as Itadori had been living an ordinary life in Sendai City until he came across first-year student Megumi Fushiguro and ate Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers. Yikes. He then became Sukuna’s vessel and attended the school where Fushiguro studied.

More than the story of Itadori is the story of his mom, Kaori, who holds the most profound secrets the anime world hasn’t seen yet, and so many twists in her life that she may deserve to star in a spinoff of “Jujutsu Kaisen” centering upon her.

The Shocking Revelation

This shocking truth about Yuji’s mom has left fans unable to sleep well at night, though that’s an overstatement, but it kind of disturbed them. Though she is only a minor character in the game, the truth about her life offers a surprising plot twist that further deepens the story’s already ornate layering.

To start with, Kaori’s identity is mysterious. It is revealed to have been manipulated by the evil sorcerer Kenjaku, just like how the sorcerer in the ballet “Swan Lake” influenced the identity of the Black Swan.

Now, Kenjaku, notorious for possessing other people’s bodies to advance his malevolent goals, has successfully taken over Kaori’s body. Thus, it will follow that her son, Yuji, won’t entirely be human since Kenjaku’s experiments and manipulations influence his existence.

So, that’s the twist. You’ll, therefore, think now that the sorcerer is partly Yuji’s parent. This, then, challenges his sense of identity and raises questions about whether his superpowers came from Kenjaku’s genetic interference and, therefore, must be repaid in gratitude.

This also casts the anime’s hero’s family history badly. First, it suggests that Yuji’s birth has all along been part of Kenjaku’s dark plans, which are bared when they merge humanity and cursed energy.

Was Yuji’s existence simply a pawn for Kenjaku and the very system he opposes? A school paper may be drafted here.

Moreover, fans are also raising speculations about this twist. First, is Yuji targeted by sorcerers because of his link with Kenjaku? Second, will this interfere with his bonds with Megumi and Nobara Kugisaki? Third, it develops the recurring theme in the show, highlighting free will against destiny as the hero questions his very existence and identity.

In other words, this shocking truth about his mom and perhaps his entire family sets the stage for more storytelling opportunities for the anime. PVP Live can’t wait.
