Even though Marvel’s Midnight Suns isn’t due out until next year, 2K Games is already giving away a free alternative Blade skin. After months of speculation about XCOM creator Firaxis’ secret Marvel game, which was initially hinted at in a 2K-based leak back in June, this supernatural superhero tactical RPG was unveiled during last week’s Gamescom livestream event.
Hydra has called Lilith, the Mother of Demons, to help them in their aim of destroying the Avengers and conquering the planet, according to Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The Hunter is a completely customizable child of Lilith who is awakened by Dr. Strange and other magical heroes to aid in the battle of their wicked mother and the terrible underworld forces she controls.
As the Hunter, players will be able to befriend some of Marvel’s greatest heroes (though those hoping to fall in love with Captain America or Iron Man would be sadly disappointed) and plot fights from their home base, the Abbey.
On the official Midnight Suns Twitter page, 2K Games stated that fans who sign up for the new Marvel’s Midnight Suns newsletter will receive free access to an exclusive Blade skin. This alternative outfit, dubbed “Nightwalker,” features the renowned vampire hunter in his regular black leather jacket and blood-red undershirt, and will be available when Marvel’s Midnight Suns is released in March 2022.
While early rumors suggested that Marvel’s Midnight Suns would be modeled after Firaxis’ own XCOM titles, it was subsequently revealed that the game would be vastly different from XCOM, save for the tactical RPG genre.

Midnight Suns will also stand out from other Marvel titles such as Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series and Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, which are also due out soon. It will do this by emphasizing the Marvel Universe’s supernatural aspects and arcane-themed heroes. Dr. Strange and Blade, as well as Ghost Rider, Nico Minoru from The Runaways, and Magik from The New Mutants are among the familiar characters.
Given how far away the game’s release is, it may seem surprising that Marvel’s Midnight Suns is already providing different DLC skins, but the Blade Nightstalker skin looks quite fantastic – not to mention a hint that 2K Games and Firaxis are completely dedicated to promoting their intriguing new superhero adventure. Meanwhile, on September 1st, a fresh gameplay livestream for Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to take place, offering gamers a deeper peek at the dark superhero adventure ahead of its March release.
