Some “Minecraft” players would use Enchantments to build better and more robust tools, armor, and other items. But, to break the game’s monotony, others would want to remove these Enchantments. Or disenchant.

But, when you take the standard route, disenchanting in “Minecraft” can be challenging. Today, PVP Live will teach you the easy way to disenchant. Let’s begin.

The Grindstone Recipe

You can disenchant various items in “Minecraft,” except for curses or negative enchantments. To disenchant, you need a Grindstone.

In this game, one way to find a Grindstone is in villages, particularly in weaponsmith buildings, shelter-like facilities with no doors, windows, or closed walls.

The other way is to create a Grindstone from scratch. Here’s the recipe:

You will need:

  • 2 Sticks
  • 1 Stone Slab
  • 2 Planks of any Wood type

On a crafting table, place those items according to this setting. See the image below:

Now, you’re all set with your Grindstone, which you can place on any surface. If you wish to remove it from the game environment, the only way is through a Pickaxe.

Disenchanting

Grindstones work similarly to Anvils, offering a display screen with two slots provided where you can merge two items.

A Grindstone’s primary purpose is to repair items, then to disenchant some objects. If you wish to disenchant an item using a Grindstone, you must have experience orbs before the item loses its enchantment.

To use your Grindstone, right-click on it and access its GUI. Then, place either one or two items.

When putting a solo item inside your Grindstone, remember that the item must be enchanted first, or the stone won’t make the change. This is the time when the Grindstone can disenchant the item.

You may also place two items inside your Grindstone, but they must be identical. Combining two objects of the same type inside a Grindstone creates a new one with more durability. The resulting item bears the sum of two inputs’ durabilities. And the resulting object will have zero enchantment.

You’ll be rewarded with experience for disenchanting items in “Minecraft.”

Disenchanting, just like Enchanting, pertains to the process requiring items and materials you won’t find early in the game.

Through Enchantments, you can access three kinds of interaction with an object’s status effects. You can enchant items, fuse enchantments, or disenchant items. The method will depend on the results you want.
