Monster Hunter Rise, which was first launched in March of this year, introduced the monster tracking, planning, and slaughtering experience to the Nintendo Switch, much to the joy of anxious fans. Capcom has announced two new partnerships between two distinct series, indicating that the content isn’t stopping down.
Capcom broadcast their press presentation at the Tokyo Game Show, called the “Capcom Online Program,” earlier this week, showing its future plans for Monster Hunter Rise. The webcast was full of surprises, including a live musical performance at one point, as well as information on Rise’s impending Sunbreak expansion. Along with this, Capcom sent out a series of tweets rehashing or disclosing new information, including collaborations with Sonic the Hedgehog and Ghosts ‘N Goblins Resurrection.

Crossovers, especially from third-party franchises, are nothing new for Monster Hunter. With a cosmetic item for your palamute, the player’s own friendly dog, gamers may bring Megaman’s trusty robotic canine Rush into the fray earlier this month.
The Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration is particularly relevant since Capcom stated on Twitter that it was created to commemorate Sonic’s thirtieth anniversary. While no details on what this partnership will offer have been released as of this writing, fans of the blue blur should keep a look out for whatever Capcom has planned.
Being a far less well-known property, the Ghosts ‘N Goblins Resurrection cooperation can be regarded as a bonus that some may not have expected. However, given that it is a Capcom production, it seems natural that it would take advantage of the chance to highlight a more modest property that gamers may not be familiar with.

Ghosts ‘N Goblins Resurrection is a platform game that lets players take on the character of knight Arthur as he battles armies of the undead. It was released on the Nintendo Switch in February and subsequently on additional platforms in June.
Capcom was nice enough to share a glimpse of what it was working on for the partnership in a tweet: an armor for the player’s hunter that would make them appear like Arthur himself. While the look is clearly at odds with the game’s style, the Monster Hunter franchise isn’t without its share of bizarre crossovers.
Whatever Capcom has in store for Monster Hunter Rise in the future will undoubtedly confound expectations, if history is any guide.
