NBA 2K21 receives global release date for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5

The release date for NBA 2K21 will come alongside the release of the next-gen consoles – the Xbox Series X/S and the PlayStation 5.

The NBA 2K game franchise is one of the most popular titles in sports along with FIFA and NHL. It already has a massive gaming community thanks to sports fans. The way the athletes are playing this post-season, NBA2K21 will surely be a game fans wouldn’t want to miss.

According to recent reports, Xbox Series X/S owners will be receiving the game first during their launch dates on November 10, 2020. The Xbox release for NBA2K21 will right away go global.

On the other hand, PlayStation 5 will have two launch dates for the new NBA game. The game will be launched on the same day the PlayStation 5 launches on November 12, 2020. However, the release will only be on selected countries including South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

For the rest of the PlayStation 5 owners from the other regions of the world, NBA2K21 will be launching on November 19, 2020.

Meanwhile, the current-gen version of NBA2K21 has already been released earlier this month. It is worth noting that the next-gen version of NBA2K21 will be $10 more expensive that the current-gen version which has long been debated by fans.

The NBA 2K21 developers confirmed that fans can still play the NBA2K21 current-gen edition on their Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility. For fans who want to upgrade to the next-gen edition of NBA 2K21, the developers are recommending getting the $100 Mamba Forever special edition.

Regardless, players must take note that the next-gen editions of NBA2K21 are built from the ground up. Although the game’s price is expected to increase, fans still hope that similar games would have a lower price value considering how expensive the next-gen consoles are going to be.

The new NBA 2K21 game is truly special as seen last July when the developers revealed this year’s 2K cover athletes. New Orleans Pelicans’ Zion Williamson and Portland Trailblazers’ Damian Lillard are NBA2K21’s cover features.

According to the NBA, Lillard will be the cover of NBA 2K21 for the current-gen consoles (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch) while Williamson will be the game’s cover for the next-gen consoles.

The developers also made another copy of the game called Mamba Forever Edition to honor the late NBA superstar Kobe Bryant. For fans who are still uncertain about getting the game, reviews of NBA 2K21 are surfacing all over the internet right now.
