Cyberpunk 2077’s release date is looming closer and closer, the marketing team for the title has been really working hard to get the game out there.
Even though CD Projekt Red may already have a group of dedicated fans who are more than ready to roam the streets of Night City, this doesn’t mean the developer has stopped promoting the game.
Recently, CD Projekt Red has been enticing the fans with Cyberpunk 2077 online events called ‘Night City Wire,’ which focus on discussing the game in-depth. However, what really boosted the game’s popularity was when it was revealed in 2019 that Keanu Reeves would be in the game.
Now, CD Projekt Red is making use of Reeves again. This time, he is featured in a short TV spot promoting the game. The commercial was initially played during the latest NBA Finals Game and in case you missed it, you can watch it above or on YouTube.
In the ad, you can see Reeves talking about Cyberpunk 2077 and its Night City. The TV commercial also features some gameplay footage, with Billie Eilish’s popular song “Bad Guys” playing as the background music.
Not gonna lie, but this new TV spot is a great teaser trailer for those who know nothing about the game. As Reeves coolly walks around in an obscure, cyberpunk-esque area, he says to the audience: “In 2077, what makes someone a criminal? Getting caught. In Night City you can become anybody, anything, if your body can pay the price. So seize the day and set it on fire.”
An awesome-looking open-world RPG that has Keanu Reeves in it? Well, if we weren’t already sold on the game before, we would have been won over now. In any case, the TV spot provides a pretty good summary of what Cyberpunk 2077 is all about.
CD Projekt Red has been proudly promoting the title’s open-world setting, and they encourage everyone to delve deep into Night City and all its districts.
If you wish to have a completely new persona or if you want to get away from the real world, Cyberpunk 2077 is the game to play as its lifepath and character customization options will allow you to become anyone you want to be.
However, the game also has its fair share of gangs and violence, so you also get to arm yourself with cool futuristic weapons as well as cybernetic upgrades.
Overall, it was definitely a good move for CD Projekt Red to bring in Keanu Reeves as well as use one of Billie Eilish’s hit songs, as these will definitely attract new players who didn’t know about the game until now.
We have to yet to see if CD Projekt Red will be releasing more ads featuring big names like Reeves, but since there’s still a little over a month left before the title’s release, the studio still has a lot of time left to continue building the game’s popularity.
Reeves will be playing a character called Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, a renowned rockstar and rebel in Night City. We don’t know how big Keanu’s role is in the game’s narrative, but we believe that Silverhand will play a major role in planning a rebellion that involves V, Cyberpunk 2077’s protagonist.
