New Ooblets Update Includes Additional Farming Mechanics Along With Brand-New Ooblet

This doesn’t seem to be widely-spread news yet, but the official Ooblets Twitter account has revealed that the v0.5 Coldyrain Update has officially been released. This latest update is pretty exciting too, as it introduces “new snowy weather, plant heaters, meltilizer, snowplops, and a brand new friend.”

Some of these words sound like random letters being forced together but they sound endearing nevertheless — quirky words for a quirky game. The game’s official Twitter account also shared a few clips showcasing the update, and it’s safe to say that the addition of snow to Ooblets adds a whole new dynamic to the game.

That being said, the aforementioned plant heater, meltilizer, and snowplop seem to be touted as new farming mechanics. Even though the Ooblets are the main star of the game, as its title suggests, players can dedicate a portion of their day just farming.

There’s a variety of unique and interesting plants to take care of as well, such as a clothplant. Once the plant has matured and can be safely harvested, players can then use it as a valuable resource.

In any case, we can infer from the trailer that the plant heater, meltilizer, and snowplop can be used to keep the players’ crops warm and healthy during the cold winter season. The series of tweets announcing the update also states that Badgetown will experience snow more often than not from now through late January. Basically, the Ooblets team is just following the typical timeframe of the winter season.

That being said, the game will still experience random snow even after that time period, but it won’t be as frequent until the next winter season. Another exciting thing about this Coldyrain update is the fact that it introduces a brand-new Ooblet.

Yes, players who are keen on collecting or simply just encountering these strange yet adorable creatures can now meet Wuddlin. However, the catch is that Wuddlin won’t come out at any time — fans can only stumble across the Ooblet when it’s snowing.

Before the update was officially launched, the Ooblets team previously used both the monkey and penguin emoji to tease the new creature. Now that the short clips officially reveal the new Ooblet, we can definitely see how Wuddlin looks like a mix of both…somehow.

In any case, whatever Wuddlin is supposed to be, the Ooblet looks like it’s enjoying the cold weather. Plus, one Twitter user who goes by the handle @perplamps has confirmed that Wuddlin can spin and dab, emitting orange clouds while doing so.

The last significant Ooblets update took place during the Halloween season, which introduced a spooky brand-new region to the game called Nullwhere. Among other things, new crops, Ooblets, recipes, and more were added to the game as well.

That being said, developer and publisher Glumberland has confirmed that it will continue releasing seasonal updates for dedicated players to enjoy. We’re definitely interested to see what kind of Ooblet the developer will introduce in the future as new seasons roll in.
