After the booming popularity of games such as Among Us and Fall Guys, it appears that the horror title Phasmophobia is the next indie multiplayer to take the world by storm. As a matter of fact, it has already reached the top of Steam’s sales charts, and that’s not a small feat.
In only a short amount of time, Phasmophobia has turned into one of the most vital games this Halloween season, as streamers, YouTubers, and gamers, in general, have gone completely nuts over this ghost hunting game.
That being said, Kinetic Games has just released the game’s third major update, and you can see its complete patch notes on Steam. The number of fixes and changes are truly hefty, so it’s highly recommended that you don’t miss out on this patch.
For one thing, we can see that this latest update really prioritized squashing the bugs that were present in Phasmophobia. This is a great decision on the developer’s part because it’s a known fact that the game is jampacked with bugs.
Asides from the adjustments made to the game, players will also find new content, specifically Halloween-themed ones. Updating your game to this newest update will surely make your gameplay experience a lot smoother.
That being said, let’s go through the update point by point. When it comes to the fixes, there are 36 listed on the patch notes. One fix rectifies the problem wherein the microphone settings of the players would reset.
On the other hand, the update claims to have fixed the issue where save files had a tendency to become corrupted whenever the game crashed. Those who encountered the bug in which their character’s sanity would rise every time they encountered a ghost will no longer have that issue.
What’s more, Phasmophobia will no longer crash for those players who have a 1GB VRAM graphics card. That being said, you can read the rest of the fixes on the game’s patch notes.

The newest update also contains a bunch of brand-new features, such as a voice sensitivity slider that you can find within Phasmophobia’s game settings. Not only that, but you will now be able to read what the ghosts are saying via the spirit box.
Developer Kinetic Games has also included new Halloween-themed content, however, it’s best that the players discover these own their own. Although, the developer did provide fans with a hint by saying that Phasmophobia now has a new ghost name.
Fans are speculating that the new ghost name is Walter White, the infamous protagonist from the TV series Breaking Bad, as the developer’s teaser tweet said “He’s the one that knocks!”
There are also numerous changes that are worth taking note of. For instance, the sound for the EMF Reader has been lowered, while Ghost Writing is now considered to be evidence. On the downside, it appears that Kinetic Games has removed the Australian server. We’re sure that the Australian fans aren’t too happy about this change.
Overall, players should definitely update their game to this latest patch for a more seamless experience, especially if they regularly play Phasmophobia.
