Rainbow Six Quarantine will potentially be renamed to Rainbow Six Parasite soon. A new update to the PlayStation Network suggests something about Ubisoft’s shooter will be arriving soon, as the studio might be preparing up for launch.
Rainbow Six Quarantine is Ubisoft’s newest coop shooting game and was scheduled to launch last year. The game experienced production problems when developers were compelled to begin working from home.
The game has very scarce information at the moment, but it appears like a new direction for the Rainbow Six series. Coming hot off the heels of Rainbow Six Siege, the game will place players in a world where aliens are a major threat. The game will also build off of the gameplay foundation of Rainbow Six Siege and feature multiple operators from the said game. Aside from these, there are really no other confirmed details.

Following some consideration, Ubisoft has also apparently decided to change the game’s name to Rainbow Six Parasite to distance itself from the coronavirus pandemic. The game is anticipated to release sometime in Ubisoft’s 2021/2022 fiscal year, meaning it will launch between April 2021 and March 2022.
Provided that a new update for the game was also pushed through to the PlayStation Network with new artwork for the game, it is likely that Ubisoft will launch the game soon or reveal some kind of beta testing period.
A new store listing hinted toward a March launch date for the game but Ubisoft mentioned that this was nothing more than a mistake. Ubisoft may have just slipped up and unveiled this information prior to an official announcement but it is too soon to say.

It would be exciting to see Ubisoft announce the game again and launch it quickly, which would remove much of the wait for this mysterious title. The studio recently postponed Far Cry 6 from its early 2021 launch window so this could be a great game to replace it.
It’s highly likely Ubisoft will reveal more details about the game between now and the forthcoming virtual E3. Provided the circumstances, it’s possibly a good thing Ubisoft is opting to distance itself from a rather depressing concept like quarantining.
Many have had to stay locked inside for about a year now, with very little to do aside from playing video games and watching movies. With reports that the new Rainbow Six will be a nationwide adventure, it’s difficult to imagine the game actually featuring a considerable quarantine such as the one fans have been living with for a year now.
