Requesting a rework schedule for Shyvana from RIOT is nothing new; the LoL collective has done so before. She also participated in the 2019 Rework Vote but unfortunately lost to Volibear and Fiddlesticks. And, since RIOT selected Dr.Mundo to be reworked in the most recent development plan, players are concerned that RIOT would overlook reworking Shyvana.
However, Riot Meddler, League of Legends’ Game Director, responded to players’ requests to rework Shyvana a few days ago. He reported Shyvana’s need for a VGU (rework both in visual and playstyle). He made it clear that any VGU that did not accept a fighter playstyle would be rejected.
When RIOT created Shyvana, the initial plan was for her to be an AD fighter. However, the AP build appears to be better for her at the moment; players primarily build AP for Shyvana and then use her E – Flame Breath in Dragon form to deal burst damage. This is in sharp opposition to RIOT’s initial strategy.
However, RIOT would need more time to create a new look for Shyvana, as Meddler said, they must prioritize Urdy first, as well as a proposal to rework Dr. Mundo from a few months earlier. Finally, there is light for Shyvana fans who have been waiting for a long time.
