It is with no doubt that the previous “The Last of Us” games have wowed players of all kinds, so they are hoping the third part will be unveiled soon (but maybe not, and you’ll know why later on).
So much has been said about “The Last of Us” Part 3, but not to shatter your hopes, all are still rumors as of now, especially from the recent statement from “The Last of Us” Part 1 creator and Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann (Naughty Dog is the company behind “The Last of Us.”
‘Can’t say anything’ because Naughty Dog will ‘slaughter’ him
Druckmann spoke with renowned entertainment website Entertainment Weekly lately, talking about how his “job is really strange.”
“My job is really strange, I’m given feedback on this theme park thing, I’m working on the TV show, and I’m working on another game, so I’m just kind of jumping around on different projects,” he said, talking about an attraction at Universal Orlando inspired by his game series, which opens Friday night.
Fans, here’s the good news. Druckmann confirmed that the second season of “The Last of Us” is “outlined and ready to go.”
But what about the gamers? The bad news is, when asked about the highly-anticipated third part of “The Last of Us” game, he said he “can’t say anything.”
“As far as the next game at Naughty Dog, I can’t say anything,” Druckman remarked. “My comms director over there will slaughter me.”
There are several rumors that have come out about this third part, though. One concerns the theme, with speculators saying Part 3 may go in a completely different direction from its predecessors.
Fans don’t want a Part 3?
Meanwhile, and interestingly, some fans don’t want a “The Last of Us” Part 3. Here’s the scoop.
The comments came from this Twitter post by @DomTheBombYT.
One netizen said they don’t want a Part 3, wishing “The Last of Us” should “have been left alone in the first place.”
“I feel like with the Last of Us they kind of fell into the ‘Skyrim Trap’ and that they need to break away from it for a while,” another netizen said.
Another also commented, “Something that will remind people that they aren’t just that company that made TLOU which is pretty much all anyone remembers since they let Uncharted fizzle out and claimed they’re done with it & the last Crash Bandicoot game we got was a MOBA.”
