1. The Northern Ranger
Rangers in “Dungeons & Dragons” are said to be inspired by the great Aragorn, the son of Arathorn, so the first great Ranger build on this list is something that takes its cue from him.
To make these all possible, you must go with a human Outlander hunter conclave “D&D” Ranger that multi-classes into battlemaster fighter.
With your hunter conclave, the fighter class and ability scores based on strength are the perfect combination. Though relatively crude in its mechanics, this partnership stacks very valuable abilities and bonuses like gold. Perfect for a king.
2. The Crossbow Assassin – With A Twist
Crossbows are equally spectacular, too. And with the right build, this can be an impressively potent weapon.
Now, if you want to play a character who can perform both melee and ranged attacks using the same weapon, this is your go-to build.
Furthermore, this build is also the way to go if you wish to get all those juicy sneak attacks and teleport. It is mainly a human variant urchin Horizon Walker conclave “D&D” Ranger who multi-classes into an assassin rogue.
With their Distant Strick capabilities, you are confident you’ll have so much fun approaching and shoving off your enemies. Plus, at higher levels, you even become a Nightcrawler.
More so, the dexterity ability scores of this build will pull all those together and dramatically boost your rogue multiclass. It’s truly a must-have Ranger build.
3. Wild Magic
If you feel like combining “Harry Potter” elements with “Dungeons & Dragons,” choose this build. Magic has always been fun to exploit, especially in this game. However, most times, it is best to just multiclass into a class that utilizes the same ability score to cast.
If you love to take advantage of everything that magic can bring to the table but still want things to be some sort of broken, you will fall in love with this build. To abuse the magic system, look at donning this character, a folk hero wood elf hunter conclave “D&D” Ranger who multi-classes into the circle of the moon druid.
At the end of the day, you will be able to shoot some arrows with this Ranger build, as well as get way more spell slots and switch to melee in your beast form whenever you need to.
4. The Bear
Do you prefer melee and want to bash people’s skulls in? Choose this Ranger build.
The Bear is already kind of overpowered by itself, making it a fantastic choice when multiclassing.
If you prefer a strength-based Ranger, this is the perfect Ranger build, as it goes so well with multiclassing. After all, you want the thrills of hand-to-hand combat, don’t you?
This Ranger build is also recommended when you want all the blood and gore. It’s a human variant pirate hunter conclave “D&D” Ranger that multi-classes into the totem warrior barbarian’s path.
Using its strength ability scores, there shall be no reason for your Ranger to get stuck as a ranged player only. Using this build, you will have an extremely resistant character with tons of bonuses, which is helpful if you are up with one of your favored opponents. Plus, did we mention the Bear also Hulks out and smashes around?
Lastly, the Pure Ranger.
5. Pure Ranger
Don’t want to deal with multiclassing? Choose this Ranger build. True, multiclassing can be a lot of work, and it’s okay if you don’t want to go through it. There’s a way, and it is with this Pure Ranger build. It is a folk hero beast master and stout halfling, as well as bonded with an unaligned medium beast that is the pteranodon. Wild as it sounds.
Using the ability scores focused on dexterity, you have the perfect archer that does very considerable damage. The pteranodon, do you ask? Well, it’s the cherry on top. There’s no better way than to rain arrows toward your enemies from high up above.
