Twitch Streamer OldBuzzardt Has Passed Away

After dedicating how many hours of uploading videos and streaming on Twitch, OldBuzzardt, a beloved member of the community, has passed away.

Twitch is one of the best places to go to if you want to kick back and relax. You could even say that it’s a safe haven for so many people, especially since the wake of the coronavirus pandemic that required everyone to stay home and self-quarantine.

Countless new users have made their way to the platform due to its accessibility and how convenient it makes watching enjoyable content. Going on Twitch and watching your favorite streamers is a great way to escape from reality, even for just a little while.

Now, one of these streamers who have made the platform so delightful was a 72-year-old man who was known by the name OldBuzzardt. Mostly referred to as “Buzz” by his friends and loved ones, OldBuzzardt always had a sunny disposition while streaming and playing video games.

As a matter of fact, he was mostly known as a Fortnite streamer, garnering over 81,000 followers on Twitch. However, the sad news is that OldBuzzardt’s family announced that the well-loved streamer has passed away last October 17 in his home.

This sorrowful news was announced by Buzz’s family members right before his scheduled stream over the weekend. His family uploaded the announcement on his Twitch account, showing a photo of Buzz smiling widely along with a heartfelt message to his supporters.

The message stated that the streamer passed away on the 17th and that fans are encouraged to share some of their favorite memories of OldBuzzardt on the chat. Buzz’s cause of death wasn’t mentioned in the message, but we should respect his friends and family by giving them the space they need in order to heal from this heartbreak.

Before Buzz joined the Twitch community as a streamer, he was a law enforcement officer for many years, some time between 1969 through 2010. In addition to that, he also had experience working in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Active Reserve.

From what we know based on Buzz’s Twitch bio, video games had been a part of his life since 1982. As a matter of fact, the Commodore 64 was his very first computer. As a Twitch streamer, Buzz was an avid fan of Fortnite. He played it so much that even Epic Games acknowledged him by giving him his very own Creator Code.

OldBuzzardt was a great reminder to not only the Twitch community but to the video game community as a whole that playing video games is supposed to be a fun and relaxing experience. It’s quite common for gamers these days to become so competitive, with only winning as their main goal.

However, this wasn’t the case for Buzz, as he simply enjoyed the experience of interacting with his fans and teammates along with the game itself. He brought a different kind of Twitch content that allowed you to loosen up, as his cheerful personality was infectious.

His fans will always have a special place for him in their hearts, especially given how he hasd impacted the world of gaming in his own way. We send our deepest and sincerest condolences to Buzz’s family and friends, and we send our well-wishes during this difficult time.
