Crunchyroll is the Netflix of animes and everything Oriental (or maybe even more than Netflix). This platform offers anime shows, East Asian dramas, and manga titles.
This April, it’s party time at Crunchyroll as there is a new wave of animes to premiere and show on the platform. Here is the list.
- ‘Hell’s Paradise’ Season 2, April 1st
No, we’re not even fooling you. The second season of “Hell’s Paradise” is premiering on Crunchyroll beginning this April 1st.
Set in Japan’s Edo period, “Hell’s Paradise” follows the ninja Gabimaru and the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri as they look for the elixir of immortality.
- ‘Skip and Loafer,’ April 4th
If you are a fan of animes showcasing life’s most precious things, “Skip and Loafer” is for you. Its story follows the main character, Iwakura Mitsumi’s high school journey moving from the countryside to Tokyo with the ambition to be admitted to a prestigious university and be part of the public service workforce.
Mitsumi is honest, diligent, and a little naïve, but in a good way. The story portrays themes in high school life, such as dreams, friendships, first love, self-doubt, self-growth, and so much more. It also depicts essential issues like body image issues, jealousy, friendship conflicts, and the like.
P.A. Works is in charge of the animation. Kotomi Deai wrote and directed the show.
- ‘Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury’ Season 2, April 9th
If you love “Gundam,” well, us too. A brand-new season of “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” is coming to you this April 9th on Crunchyroll.
It has been said that the plot of this second season will focus on how a girl named Suletta Mercury enters the Asticassia School of Technology, a school run by the Benerit group. This is the overarching plot of the series’ first season, with Mercury being the series’ female protagonist.
- ‘Dead Mount Death Play,’ April 10th
“Dead Mount Death Play” is a showdown of the ages as the legendary hero takes on the corpse god necromancer. However, when the dust settles, something is not quite right. In the final moments of their epic confrontation, the corpse god’s last gambit shot was wholly unexpected – reincarnation magic. Across space and time, a boy named Polka Shinoyama awakens, feeling not quite himself.
“Dead Mount Death Play” is produced by Geek Toys and directed by Manabu Ono. The assistant direction is from Takakaru Ōkuma, and the sub-direction is from Yoshiki Kitai.
The scripts are penned by Ono, Yukie Sugawara, and Yoriko Tomita, with character designs from Hisashi Abe. F.M.F. composed the music.
- ‘Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts,’ April 19th
Another manga-inspired anime coming to you on Crunchyroll this April is “Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts.” The story is about the King of the Beasts and Demons regularly receiving human sacrifices to eat to assert the dominance of his people over the human race. However, for the 99th sacrifice, Sariphi, a human girl brought to the capital, intrigues the Beast King.
Other animes premiering on Crunchyroll next month are:
- “Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!” – April 3rd
- “Dr. Stone: New World” – April 6th
- “Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage” – April 13th
- And so much more
