WWE 2K22 Is Bringing Back Fan-Favorite General Manager Mode

General Manager mode was first featured in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2006, and it was later reintroduced in SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 and 2008. General Manager mode was unfortunately deleted from SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 and hasn’t been seen in the pro wrestling game franchise since. However, according to a recent story, things may change with the forthcoming WWE 2K22, which will reportedly see General Manager mode make its long-awaited comeback after more than a decade.

This is according to SportsGamersOnline, which cites “sources” who claim that the WWE 2K22 General Manager feature is a “high priority” for the Visual Concepts team. According to SGO’s sources, WWE 2K22’s General Manager mode will be one of the most popular modes in the game, with one insider even claiming that the mode will be what sells people on the game.

SGO didn’t go into depth about what the WWE 2K22 GM mode would involve, but that information should be available in January. According to official information, more information about the game’s modes and features would be disclosed in January, which was verified immediately after the WWE 2K22 SummerSlam video was released. Even yet, because SGO does not give specific data to back up their assertions, it’s advisable to treat this information with caution for the time being.

This isn’t the first time WWE 2K22 has received favorable feedback. According to a recent report, people behind the scenes have been quite happy with what they’ve seen of WWE 2K22 thus far, with praise given to the game’s revamped engine. The creators appear to have taken the criticism of WWE 2K20 seriously and are working hard to turn the series around, an endeavor that should be assisted by the next game’s increased production period.

WWE 2K22 has been in production for decades, longer than any other WWE video game. Due to the negative response to WWE 2K20, 2K Sports decided to discontinue WWE 2K21 and devote more attention to WWE 2K22. This means that 2020 and 2021 went by without a main series WWE 2K video game, but if WWE 2K22 lives up to the anticipation, it might all be worth it.

While there have been many good stories about the creation of WWE 2K22, there has also been a rumor that WWE’s relationship with 2K Sports is “seriously strained.” Positive reviews and high sales for WWE 2K22 may help to repair that connection, but only time will tell. When the game’s next major reveal event takes place in January, fans will learn a lot more about it.
