There are several interesting monsters in the Pokémon franchise, both in their backstory and appearance. Such includes Lycanroc, who, without seeing how it looks, will give you the idea of its appearance just by its name. Lycanroc… lycanthropy, right? This wolf- or fox-life Pokémon is so stunning that it will take your breath away. But, before you can get hold of this pocket monster, it must first evolve from Rockruff. Here’s a guide to evolving Rockruff into Dusk Form Lycanroc.

Who Is Rockruff?

This canine Pokémon looks like a premature wolf. Its color is light brown with muzzle, paws, and ear tips at a darker brown color. It also has gigantic blue eyes, a short muzzle with a triangular pink nose, and a short tuft of fur on each of its cheeks.

Around its neck, you can find a ruff of grayish-white fur stubbed with pebbles in a dark brown color. On its paws are markings in dark brown color leading to a thin point on each of its wrists and ankles. Notice its gray-white tail, too, over its back covered in fluffy fur. What a cute canine.

Rockruff evolves into various types of Lycanroc, which is unique compared to the evolutions of other Pokémons. This depends on the time and Ability. The evolutions could either be Midday Form Lycanroc, Midnight Form Lycanroc, or Dusk Form Lycanroc.

How About Dusk Form Lycanroc?

Oh, the star of this piece. Dusk Form Lycanroc is silent but deadly. This rare, Wolf-type Pokémon takes the form of Rockruff at sunset. Its eyes glow red when attacking, and its tough claws increase the damage it inflicts upon enemies. Outside of its battle form, it is calm and silent, but it actually never barks, too.

Getting Rockruff: A Concise General Guide

Event Rockruff is the only Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Lycanroc. Well, originally. However, all its offspring with the Own Tempo ability may also evolve into Dusk Lycanroc. Read on to find out more.

Getting Rockruff With Own Tempo Ability

While you can get your own Rockruff as early as in the South Province (Area 1), remember that this type of Rockruff must have its Own Tempo ability. To make this happen, you must have multiple Rockruffs. Be guided by checking their Abilities on the Summary page.

Now, The Evolution Process

It shall be straightforward to evolve Rockruff into Dusk Lycanroc. First, you should increase Rockruff’s level to 25 or beyond. Then, ensure it levels up between 5 p.m. and 5:59 p.m. in the game.

But, There’s A Catch

Actually, things can get easier if you know that searching for a wild Dusk Form Lycanroc is possible, so you’ll see it as it is without going through Rockruff.

Travel to the North Province (Area 1) far northeast of Grusha and Ryme’s Gym. This wild Lycanroc is already at level 50. But you must have at least six Gym Badges before you can confront it.

You can likewise find a wild Lycanroc already evolved in the North Province (Area 1). But you will see either a Midday, Midnight or Dusk Lycanroc, not just the Dusk form, depending on the time of the day. Of course, if you are early, you’ll catch a Midday Lycanroc and so on. A Dusk Form wild Lycanroc is at the North Province (Area 1) during evenings in-game.

The other method to catch Dusk Form Lycanroc is in a Tera Raid Battle. Try “Pokémon Scarlet and Violet” today.
