The newest story trailer for “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” has arrived. And though it is only almost two minutes long, this new trailer has teased gamers a lot about the plot, gameplay, characters, abilities, worlds, mysterious objects, and set pieces. Imagine those all revealed within just a few minutes.
The trailer also seemed to hint at the possible – and shocking – return of a major villain in the story. This and more in this story. Read on.
Return of the Ninth Sister
The first detail in the trailer, a “blink and you’ll miss it” type of clip, is a single frame that suggests the comeback of one of Cal Kestis’ most dangerous enemies, the Ninth Sister.
If you pause at roughly the 24th second, you will be able to see it. In the left-hand corner, you can see a silhouette clearly imposing the figure of the Ninth Sister.
Kestis supposedly eliminated the Inquisitor on Kashyyyk in “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” but as is tradition, when a “Star Wars” villain is defeated, if you do not see the body, there are likely coming back.
Here are the rest of the most significant things revealed in the new trailer.
What else can we learn from the new trailer?
First, the return of Merrin. Kestis’ Nightsister ally is back, demonstrating an impressive display of power, including magicks and hand-to-hand combat.
Second is Greezy’s greeting. Merrin is not the only recognizable face in the trainer. In a warm moment, it has been shown Stinger Mantis captain Greez embraces Kestis. The viewers are also reminded that he was not able to escape from the events of “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” unscathed since one of his four arms now appears to be cybernetic.
Third is the Jedi tunic of gold. In a brief yet tense scene, viewers saw Kestis with someone wearing a Jedi tunic with gold accepts, along with the High Republic crest and a lightsaber clipped to his belt. The High Republic was the prime of the Jedi Order, centuries before Kestis’ time, so who could this be, and why is he alive? Exciting, right?
The trailer also showcases some intriguing puzzle gameplay. In one sequence, Kestis levitates some sort of orb onto a dock, unveiling a hidden bridge.
Lastly, there seems to be tag-team action in the upcoming game. In separate scenes, we see Kestis teaming up with Bode and Merrin, stringing together combos that involve lightsaber strikes, melee combat, and so much more. The action is smooth and fast, and opens up several possibilities.
“Star Wars Jedi: Survivor” is coming to you this April 28th.
