“Attack on Titan” is perhaps one of the best animes ever. It is still ongoing, and anime fans love how its plot thickens as the days go by. Right now, they are on their way to its final season, and the return date is said to be November 4th.
In this anime, you can find several strong Titans (of course). But none is quite as powerful as the Founding Titan. But, despite the importance and strength of the Founding Titan, fans may need to know more about who it is.
Here are 10 trivia about the Founding Titan that you should know about.
1. All The Powers Of The Founding Titan Are The Most Potent
The Founding Titan, basically speaking, was among the Nine Titans and the first of all Titans. These Nine Titans each possessed their own unique powers, but out of them all, the Founding Titan was the most powerful.
Inheritors could utilize Ymir Fritz, the first Titan shifter, to create and control as many Titans as they wished. They could also be in significant control of the Eldians, changing their bodies and thinking.
Because of this immense power of the Founding Titan, many characters in “Attack on Titan,” especially those who belonged to the Fritz family, wanted to become its owner so they could turn their goals into a reality.
2. Karl Fritz Controlled The Memories Of His People, Making Them Forget About Their History
Karl was Ymir’s descendant. Putting an end to the Great Titan War, he decided to bring as many Eldians as he could to Paradis, firmly believing that doing so would give peace to the world. He put Colossal Titans under his control to surround the Eldians who joined him and turned them into three gigantic walls.
Then, he controlled his people’s memories, urging them to forget about their history and think the Titans killed the rest of humanity.
3. Uri Reiss Put An End To The Ackerman Clan Killings
The Founding Titan was passed down to each of the Fritz family’s generations, renamed in Paradis as the Reiss family. Eventually, it would reach Uri Reiss. But, along with these new powers came Karl’s principles. His ancestor possessed Uri. Thus, he couldn’t change the world the way he wanted.
However, he was able to put an end to the Ackerman clan killings. This family was one that the Founding Titan could not control so that they could remember the true history of the world. Because the royal family thought this was too powerful, they persecuted them. With Uri bringing peace between the two bloodlines, he forged a close friendship with Kenny Ackerman, who hoped to obtain the Founding Titan for himself following Uri’s demise.
4. Grisha Yeager, Eren Yeager’s Father, Used His Attack Titan To Kill Most Of The Royal Family
Rather than being passed down to Kenny, Frieda Reiss, Uri’s niece, inherited his Titan. Similar to what happened to her uncle, Karl possessed her. Meanwhile, Grisha, being an Eldian from Marley, snuck his way to Paradis. When the Armored and Colossal Titans broke into their country, Yeager’s dad found Frieda and begged her to utilize her powers.
When she did not, he used this Attack Titan to murder most members of the royal family and inherited the Founding Titan for himself. Knowing that he would die since he had used the Attack Titan for almost 13 years, he had his son eat him.
5. The Titan Who Ate Yeager’s Mother Was Dina Fritz, Actually
But Grisha was not the only one who perished that way. A Titan also ate Yeager’s mom right in front of him. Years later, he came across this Titan and just punched her. He and the rest of the Survey Corps were surprised that all the other Titans around them then ate his mom’s murderer.
Not aware that he inherited the Founding Titan, it would take months for him to realize he could only peruse his capabilities when he was in contact with a Fritz family member. Dina Fritz, Grisha’s first wife and Frieda’s distant relative, was actually the Titan who devoured Yeager’s mom.
6. Historia Contemplated On Eating Yeager And Taking Back The Founding Titan
The time when Yeager signed up in the military, he met a girl named Krista. Krista interestingly never knew a lot about her life and was forced to keep a secret everything she came to know. Then, she turned out to be Historia Reiss, the sister of Frieda. After learning who her family was and what Grisha did to them, she considered eating Yeager and taking back the Founding Titan. But, she instead ended up killing her dad and becoming the queen of Paradis.
When Yeager learned how he could be in control of the Founding Titan, he kept this a secret from others since he was clueless about what they might do to Historia, who was the last member of the Fritz family who resided in Paradis.
7. Yeager And Zeke Were The Two Half-Brothers Who Changed The World
Before he reached Paradis, Grisha had a son with Dina, who is Zeke. But Zeke and Yeager did not know about each other for most parts of their lives. When the two first met, they were in polar opposites of a war.
However, as time passed, the two half-brothers realized that they must work together if they wanted to lead their goals to fruition. Thus, they gained a massive number of followers who believed that the two were the Eldians’ last hope.
8. Yeager Convinced His Dad To Wipe Out The Royal Family
Yeager and his half-brother, Zeke, had completely different ideas on saving the world. While Yeager wanted freedom for the Eldians and was willing to kill everybody who stood in this way, Zeke believed that the suffering of the Eldians would only be put to an end if they were never born, hoping to use the Founding Titan to make this happen.
Zeke tried to make his half-brother agree with him, so they traveled through Grisha Yeager’s memories. Grisha is Yeager’s father. Grisha then ended up seeing the future version of his son when he faced Frieda. Since he was not ready to kill the royal family, Yeager convinced his father to do this, causing all the events that occurred to him to be the outcome of actions he did not commit then.
9. Yeager Utilized The Colossal Titans Fritz Created To Murder Thousands Of People
Because of the fact Yeager was in control of the Fountain Titan, instead of Zeke, he was able to turn this vision into reality. He actually utirlized the Colossoal Titans Fritz created to kill thousands of people.
Though it was wrong for them to keep fighting each other over stuff that transpired before they were even born, and that were a complete waste of time, if you are going to look at it, this did not matter to Yeager. He won’t stop until he finds peace and satisfaction.
10. All Of Them Came Together Just To Stop Yeager
For most parts of the story, Yeager was a soldier in the Survey Corps of Paradis, while Zeke was a warrior in the Warrior Unit of Marley. Several times, these two groups battled each other, but all came together just to stop Yeager.
As Yeager journeyed to Marley, his friends and enemies caught up to him to try to stop him.
The story of “Attack on Titan” is set in a world where humanity is forced to reside in cities surrounded by three giant walls protecting them from Titans – giant man-eating humanoids – and revolves around Yeager, whose goal is to exterminate these Titans after they destroy his hometown and killed his mother.
