Playing “Red Dead Redemption 2” is one hell of a ride. The game is so action-packed that you will be at a loss if you don’t wield the best weapons.
“Red Dead Redemption 2” is Rockstar Games’ action-adventure game that takes players back to the era of the Wild West. And, being the Wild West, you sure must use the most unbeatable weapons to win the war.
Are you wondering what these weapons are? Here’s the list.
1. Midnight’s Pistol
The Midnight’s Pistol is hands down, one of the best handguns in the game. You can own this deadly handgun by completing the Billy Midnight Gunslinger side quest.
Endowed with an impeccable fire rate, buttery handling, and top-notch reload and accuracy stats, Midnight’s Pistol is undoubtedly the total package. Well, almost. Though it isn’t as potent as the Volcanic Pistol, its overall strength makes it a well-rounded weapon. Just remember that it can be a bit of a showdown with Billy before you can acquire this gun, but your efforts will definitely pay off.
2. Flaco’s Revolver
Here’s another weapon that could be yours once you complete the Gunslinger side quests: Flaco’s Revolver. It isn’t ranked number one here, but it is an excellent replacement early in the game for your rusty old shooting iron. Simply kill Flaco Hernandez, and this revolver is all yours. Go ahead and give this weapon a try.
3. Springfield Rifle
From pistols and revolvers to rifles, inarguably among the best rifles in “Red Dead Redemption 2” is the Springfield Rifle. First, it is great as you can get your hands on it early in the game. Though it is slower to reload compared to the other weapons here, it justifies its place on this list of the best weapons thanks to its super fantastic range and power.
This weapon is perfect for you if you want to clear out gang hideouts from afar and haven’t unlocked the Carcano Rifle yet.
Another great thing about the Springfield Rifle is its stopping power, which makes it ideal for taking down enormous predators. We mean it when we say large predators, as these could be brown and grizzly bears. Yikes!
4. Calloway’s Revolver
You can acquire many weapons as you complete the Gunslingers side quest. Another weapon here is Calloway’s Revolver, the last revolver the side quest will make available.
To make the most of it, remember to loot this revolver after killing Slim Grant, the final gunslinger. The weapon is engraved with Canis Cane Edit, which is a nice little nod to Bully, the developer’s open-world school caper.
5. Rare Rolling Block Rifle
Then, we move on to the category of sniper rifles. Yes, not just snipers, not just rifles, but sniper rifles. While the vanilla Rolling Block Rifle is no match for the Carcano Rifle, an incredibly scarce hybrid version of this sniper has made it to this list.
You can get the chance to loot this superb rifle from an enemy’s corpse in Magicians for Sport, a mission from the game’s third chapter. Arthur shall storm a barn nearby as soon as you have eradicated the bad guys using the cornfields as their hideaway spots. One of your enemies has the Rare Rolling Block Rifle. You know the drill. Once you have killed these enemies, simply loot their corpses to own this rifle.
6. Algernon’s Revolver
This beauty and strength is a gift and a reward for accomplishing all the tasks in the Duchesses and Other Animals challenge, which, to give you an idea, will have you tracking down exotic goods for a chap known as Algernon Wasp. You must wait until the fourth chapter to meet him, but once you reach this part, you can find him at the Saint Denis location. Here, Algernon’s Revolver is waiting for you. Its rate of fire? Oh-so-good.
7. Sawed-Off Shotgun
On its own, the Sawed-off Shotgun is just average. But paired with another Sawed-off, it becomes “murdery,” quite unbeatable. Arm Arthur with two of them, and their sheer firing power can stop any enemy or even an animal. Slay is the name of the game here.
But wait, there’s more. If you want the best version of this weapon, be sure to visit Manito Glade, located north of Annesburg. In its wilderness, you will find a shack an extremely unwelcoming outlaw owns. Take down this grumpy gunslinger, and his Rare Double-Barrel Shotgun could be yours. It’s a very potent weapon.
8. Tomahawk
The Tomahawk is touted as the most forceful close combat weapon in “Red Dead Redemption 2,” and it doesn’t end there. It becomes even more vital if you visit the fence in Saint Denis. Visit the criminal shop to buy the blueprints for a Homing Tomahawk. As soon as you have purchased the extra bloody pamphlet, build a camp after you have obtained a standard tomahawk and an owl’s feather. Then, voila, this weapon is now yours.
9. Schofield Revolver
Gorgeous, brutal, and beautiful, the Schofield Revolver is a firearm of majestic characteristics. First, its ornate etchings. Then, its brilliant firing speed. You’ll also enjoy its spot-on accuracy and daunting damage stats. Want Arthur to be unstoppable? Be sure to wield two of these pistols.
10. Litchfield Rifle
Perhaps the best repeater in “Red Dead Redemption 2,” the Litchfield Rifle is also a murderous weapon to own. While its reload rate and accuracy may not be the best, its amazing fire rate and outlaw-eviscerating power can compensate for those shortcomings.
Ideal for down-and-dirty gang shootouts, this rifle is yours when bought as soon as Arthur’s criminal change purse can afford it.
Believe us, you won’t survive the Wild West world in “Red Dead Redemption 2” without wielding the right weapons. When you need a guide to the best and first-class weapons in the game, simply head to this list.
