Everything You Need To Know About The New Trending Game Black Myth: Wukong

Black Myth: Wukong may not be as famous as the other next-gen console games but it has already drawn the attention of fans after the release of its jaw-dropping gameplay trailer.

This is the first major project from Chinese indie developer Game Science and it seems astonishingly ambitious. However, Game Science’s founder, Feng Ji wants fans to “just forget” the recently released footage since it was really intended to attract other developers to join his studio and because he feels the trailer doesn’t portray the team’s best work.

Black Myth: Wukong’s Developers

The developers behind the now-famous Black Myth: Wukong is Game Science – a Chinese indie game developer based in Shenzhen and Hangzhou. The studio was established last 2014 by a team of former Tencent developers.

A few of the games released by the studio on PC and mobile include F2P games such as Art of War: Red Tides and 100 Heroes. Before starting the studio, most of the developers were working at Tencent’s Quantum Studio where they were creating an MMORPG called Asura West which supposedly didn’t work well for Tencent. Although, it is uncertain if this is the exact reason why the team separated from Tencent.

While Game Science is still a juvenile studio, they are utilizing the early announcement for Black Myth: Wukong to invite new talents to help finish the game.

Black Myth: Wukong Plot

While the developers haven’t revealed in-depth details about the game’s story, what is publicly known is that Black Myth: Wukong is based on the classic Chinese story, Journey to the West – one of the four of classic Chinese literature.

A part of the main story features Sun Wukong, also called the Monkey King, who appears to be the main protagonist in Black Myth: Wukong. In Journey to the West, the story features Wukong from birth to his incredible journey to learn Taoism and become immortal while becoming proficient in combat and language. He also learns 72 forms of heavenly transformation which allow him to morph into various animals and objects.

Black Myth: Wukong Release Date

Game Science hasn’t announced a specific release date yet for Black Myth: Wukong but have revealed that they are aiming to release the game on the PC and certain consoles. A FAQ on the developer’s website states that the game “shouldn’t take 500 years” to complete so fans can only hope that Black Myth: Wukong will come sooner than later.
