Hamad International Airport, the principal national airport of Qatar, has partnered with Dell Technologies, choosing the tech company’s Dell PowerEdge servers to drive more innovation in its airport operations, the airport announced in an official press release today.
Dell’s PowerEdge servers are capable of enhancing both business agility and time to market. It can also support transformational workloads, such as analytics and databases, virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure, software-defined storage, containerization, AI, HPC, and ML.
Furthermore, these servers are also created for secure interactions and to be able to predict potential threats, as they feature a cryptographically verified security design and an intuitive management systems process capable of monitoring, deploying, and implementing airport operation automation.
Hamad International Airport’s recent partnership with Dell PowerEdge is expected to enhance its infrastructure capabilities further, deliver the best passenger experience, and improve efficiencies and costs, as the airport maintains its reputation as the ultimate airport of choice for travelers around the world.
“Hamad International Airport’s contribution to facilitating global trade, raising industry benchmarks and introducing the ultimate in passenger convenience has been remarkable. As the sector continues to move upward and passengers demand enhanced travel experiences, a robust and flexible digital infrastructure supporting high-density growth will prove crucial,” Travers Nicholas, Dell Technologies’ Country General Manager for Qatar, said.
Nicholas added that the company is committed to helping the airport realize its vision for growth, and as a significant player in the aviation sector worldwide, it is enthusiastic to witness it soar to greater heights in the future.
Designed to perform exceptionally, Dell PowerEdge servers can be tailored according to Hamad International Airport’s specific needs.
For instance, when Qatar hosted the FIFA World Cup last year, the airport saw a 101.9 percent year-on-year surge in passenger traffic and a 28.3 percent expansion in overall aircraft movement compared to 2021. Building on this momentum, Hamad International Airport is looking forward to seeing the fruits of this latest partnership with Dell Technologies.
Implementing these solutions from Dell works toward offering more support for the airport’s future plans and administering new avenues to scale and consolidate its data center, so it can run the most mission-critical and complex workloads while maintaining its flexibility for its growth needs in the future.
“As one of the world’s busiest airports that moves a significant number of passengers and commodities on an hourly basis, access to agile technology remains critical. Working with a technology provider who understands the demands of international air travel and is well-equipped to support passengers, airlines, and air cargo efficiencies is therefore paramount,” Suhail Kadri, Hamad International Airport’s Senior Vice President of Technology and Innovation, meanwhile stated.
Kadri added that working with Dell Technologies via the airport’s channel partners network will help it maintain its ambitious growth plans and introduce new digital innovations as it continues to invest in airport modernization.
Dell Technologies helps individuals, organizations, and businesses build their digital future, and transform the way they work, live, and play. It provides its clients with the industry’s most innovative and broadest technologies and services portfolio.
Hamad International Airport is an award-winning airport that has received various accolades, such as the “World’s Best Airport” for 2021 and 2022, “World’s Best Airport for Shopping” for 2023,” and “Cleanest Airport in the Middle East” for 2023, among many others.
