There are two pieces of good news about Samsung recently. First, the South Korean multinational has opened free-to-play gaming zones in New York and London in partnership with Microsoft’s Xbox.
Second, rumors recently say that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Flip5, Watch6, and Tab S9 will debut this late July, in time for Samsung’s next Unpacked event. Now, this is earlier since the Unpacked event is typically held during August. Here are the stories.
Free-to-play gaming zones in New York, London
Gamers love free-to-play gaming zones (who doesn’t?), and Samsung is making this dream come true.
In June 2022, Microsoft’s Xbox teamed up with Samsung Gaming Hub to present the world’s first-ever smart TV platform to house the Xbox App on smart TVs. This tie-up has allowed the users of the latter to stream more than 100 top-quality games via the Xbox App by subscribing to “Xbox Game Pass.”
That partnership has proven to be a success. So, the two have once again collaborated to open a free-to-play “Gaming Zone” at Microsoft Experience Centers located in New York and London, particularly along Fifth Avenue and Regent Street, the company announced today.
“Samsung and Xbox team up with dedicated gaming areas across Microsoft’s London and New York Experience Centers, offering unique gaming experiences on Samsung screens,” said the official news release of Samsung.
The Samsung Gaming Hub also features integrations for Spotify, Twitch, and YouTube’s Gaming. With these, it becomes a new hub not just for gaming but also for entertainment, providing gamers with simple access to beef up their experience.
If you are planning to visit the locations, all you need to start playing is a Bluetooth-enabled game controller and an Internet connection – no downloads, no storage restrictions, and no PC or console required.
There are three gaming areas in the hub. First, there’s the Cloud Gaming Zone that features 55-inch Neo QLED Smart TVs for streaming games via the Samsung Gaming Hub.
Second, there’s the Living Room Zone that features 85-inch Neo QLED 8K TV in New York and 98-inch Neo QLED 4K HDR Smart TVs in London. Lastly, there’s the Tournament Zone with 27-inch Odyssey G5 Gaming Monitors and 24-inch Odyssey G3 Gaming Monitors in New York and London, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, TabS S9, and more slated for early release?
Traditionally, Samsung’s Unpacked events are held in August. This is where new products from the brand are unveiled.
However, according to unnamed and unspecified sources media outlets have communicated with, the next Unpacked event is happening this July, earlier than what’s according to tradition.
The upcoming Unpacked event is expected to be when the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Flip5, Watch6, and Tab S9 are to be revealed.
If there is truth to this rumor, the next Unpacked event will reportedly happen this July 25th, 26th, or 27th.
