The iPhone 15 Pro Max is not releasing until this August 16th, but this date is also still a rumor. From a titanium chassis design to Dynamic Island updates, speculations about its features are everywhere, all hot to share their insights about what the smartphone will have. And these include the camera features.
Bigger, better
Recent leaks have revealed that iPhone 15 Pro Max, like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max last year, will have a bigger and more powerful 48 MP camera.
The leaker, @UniverseIce, tweeted the details, saying iPhone 15 Pro Max will launch with a new 48 MP sensor later this year. That sensor, the IMX903, is a massive improvement from the IMX803 that the iPhone 14 duo has.
In terms of size, the leaker added IMX903 would have a 1/1.14-inch sensor, different from IMX803’s 1/1.28-inch sensor. Moreover, they also said it would have hardware-level 14-bit DNG RAW capture.
“The iPhone’s main camera is improving every year, which is commendable…” Ice universe said in their tweet.
However, looking at the details they shared, it still appears Apple is moving back to the days when the main camera of the Pro Max model is better than that of the Pro. If we rely on the information, it will appear IMX903 will be exclusive only to iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the Pro will keep the IMX803 of the previous units.
iOS 17 update
Meanwhile, in other iPhone news, you know that iOS 17 is also about to arrive, particularly this mid-September, according to media reports. This new update, like its predecessors, will provide a massive makeover to iPhones.
Among these are with the apps. Mark Gurman, Bloomberg’s tech reporter focusing on Apple’s product plans, revealed during his MacRumors Show podcast that the upcoming iOS 17 would bring improvements and changes to the Wallet app.
Wallet is an iPhone app that allows users to store coupons, boarding passes, government IDs, student IDs, resort passes, business credentials, car and home keys, event tickets, public transportation passes, debit cards, credit cards, and prepaid cards for Apple Pay.
Gurman said iOS 17 is comparable to iOS 15 in such a way that iOS 17 will focus on updating the core system apps rather than big changes or introducing standout new capabilities like iOS 14’s widgets or iOS 16’s Lock Screen redesign.
Aside from enhancements on Wallet, the Bloomberg tech reporter also said Find My will also offer new improvements, such as on its location- and Find My-related features.
If you wish to sideload apps and are in the United States, you may be in a stroke of bad luck. In addition, he said sideloading apps may only be limited to users in Europe. As for the reason, he said the company has to adhere to the Digital Markets Act.
Gurman added he has more to share about iOS 17 in the coming weeks.
