Just like choosing Traits for your Sim in “The Sims,” one of the first choices you will make in “Cyberpunk 2077” is your Lifepath. At this point in the game, you literally have zero experience, so deciding upon this can be confusing and complicated.
So, in this guide, you will get to know each of these Lifepaths as we help you find the best for your preferences and tastes.
What Are The Differences Between The 3 Lifepaths In ‘Cyberpunk 2077’?
The Lifepath of V, the player-controlled character and the main protagonist in the game, believe it or not, is not about selecting a class or baseline stats. Remember, “Cyberpunk 2077” is an RPG first, then an action game. Choosing this Lifepath is where the role-play actually begins.
But, also remember that the Lifepath you choose won’t have any effect on your stats and abilities. This is since all you are choosing is your own version of V’s personality and personal history.

There are three Lifepaths to choose from:
Nomad
It’s pretty self-explanatory, but in “Cyberpunk 2077,” they roam the Badlands, loot the scrapyards, and raid fuel depots. But, despite these bad habits, being a Nomad also has its perks. We’re talking about integrity and love for freedom – qualities that only a few in Night City imbibe and that no amount of money can buy.
Streetkid
As they say, if you want to understand the streets, you gotta live them. Gangs, small-time pushers, fixers, and dolls raise this Lifepath. Out there on the roads, the weak serve the strong – not vice versa. So, you must do everything to break them.
Corpo
This is more of the goodie good. As they also say, few people leave the corporate world with their lives, and fewer still have their souls intact. Here, you have bent the rules, turned information into your greatest weapon, and exploited secrets. There is no fair game on this battlefield – only winners and losers.
Unique Side Jobs And Items
Interestingly enough, each Lifepath also has a unique side job and some items.
- Nomads can drive a starter car during the game’s prologue, in the side job called “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.” You’ll also be able to drive a modified bike. Rawr!
- Meanwhile, Streetkids can own a knockoff “Jimmy Silverham” bomber jacket in the side job known as “Small Man, Big Mouth.”
- Lastly, Corpos can find a custom Apparition variant of a tech pistol called Kenshin in the side job “War Pigs.”
Sounding so weird and seemingly not in sync with the Lifepaths themselves, but never dull.
Which Lifepath Is The Best?
If you don’t trust your gut, don’t worry. For us here on PVP Live, Corpo has the most impact. But, each Lifepath has its own unique advantages. For realists, choose Streetkid. For materialists, choose Nomad (yes, not Corpo). But Corpo is still the most useful Lifepath.
