Wintertime is so cold that even the strangest creatures, like shadows, will lurk around you to maybe ask for a blanket. But what if this creepy shadow won’t cause harm but is rather friendly? Here’s how to complete the Winter Mystery Quest in “Stardew Valley,” where you’ll meet this shadow.
Unlocking The Quest
Unlocking the Winter Mystery Quest in this game is the easiest part. Simply leave your farm for a while and proceed to the bus stop, but be sure it’s any day during wintertime between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m, of course.
Upon arriving at the bus spot, a cutscene will play where you’ll see the shadowy figure walking around. Be alert, as they’ll eventually spot you and sprint in the other direction.
After the cutscene, you will have the quest in your journal. A creepy Shadowy Figure running away? Yes, and so you must find it again and see what they’re up to.
Completing The Quest
This quest is really just all about finding the Shadowy Figure. While it isn’t hard, it requires some of your attention. Work on your detective skills as you track the shadow from their footprints in the show. Follow these footprints, leading you to a bush near the Community Center. We hate to spoil the surprise, but interacting with the bush will have the Shadow Figure popping out.
Could you even believe that this shadow talks? Yes! They will briefly speak with you and offer you a Magnifying Glass. This allows you to locate secret notes, which provide details about the townsfolk – including their likes and dislikes, interests, and relationships – and some unique items. Notes that will give you information about other people? Now that’s creepy.
After this, the quest is complete.
Where To Obtain The Secret Notes
Don’t fret. Those secret notes are the big rewards of this quest. But you must first know where to get them. You can unlock these notes by performing tasks such as finding artifacts, fishing, chopping trees, removing weeds, harvesting resources, and even those that’ll make you commit evil acts, such as killing monsters.
While doing these tasks, you’ll eventually find these secret notes randomly. Just make sure to keep your eyes wide open. They’ll be in your inventory, ready to be read.
