It’s crunch time for Xbox now that we are approaching October, but there is officially just one game confirmed for Xbox Game Pass for that month. This and more are in this PVP Live piece.
‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ Is The Only Game Confirmed So Far On Xbox Game Pass
As of this time of writing, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” is the only game confirmed so far for Xbox Game Pass. Even if this game is great to play, fans are disappointed because they are expecting to see more games on the roster.
Not yet officially launched, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” is a first-person shooter game set in 1991. It features a single-player story following rogue operatives Frank Woods and Troy Marshall as they form a team of agents to track down a clandestine force known as Pantheon. Now, Pantheon has infiltrated the Central Intelligence Agency and tagged those who go against their way and resist them as traitors to the United States. Yikes.
You can go ahead and look forward to this game this October. But gamers have these games on their wishlist:
- “Neva”
- “A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead”
- “[REDACTED]”
- “Silent Hill: HD Collection”
For now, you can enjoy these amazing September 2024 games on Xbox Game Pass.
Best September 2024 Games On Xbox Game Pass
‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’
Mostly set in ancient Egypt, particularly near the collapse of the Ptolemaic period from 49 to 38 BC, the story of “Assassin’s Creed Origins” follows Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay (nomadic people), and Aya, his wife, as they seek to get revenge for the killing of their son.
This game also explores the origins of the Assassin Brother, referred to here as the Hidden Ones, and their conflict with the Order of the Ancients, which has already been running for millennia. The Order of the Ancients is the forerunner to the Templar Order.
But here’s the twist. There is a framing story set in the 21st century and follows Layla Hassan, who re-lives Bayek and Aya’s memories using a modified device known as Animus.
‘Fallout: New Vegas’
“Fallout: New Vegas” is an action RPG set in the iconic Mojave Desert 204 years after this place witnessed a destructive nuclear war. You control and play as a courier who wakes up after receiving a shot in the head from an unidentified assailant. While hunting down your assailant, you find yourself embroiled in an even bigger conflict between various governing factions that want to control and take over the region.
This game features an open-world map like the “GTA” game series. Much of the gameplay revolves around a wide range of weapons you can use for combat.
‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection’
Not “The Master Chef,” but “The Master Chief.” This edition of the worldwide favorite game, “Halo,” is a compilation of first-person shooter video games in the “Halo” series. The game collection has “Halo 2: Anniversary,” “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary,” “Halo 3,” “Halo 3: ODST,” “Halo 4,” and “Halo: Reach.” All those games have received graphical upgrades. See the game for yourself.
‘Kunitsu-Gami: Path Of The Goddess’
Not an action RPG but an action strategy game, “Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess,” is played from a third-person POV. It features elements and attributes from real-time strategy and tower defense games.
In this game, you play as Soh, bestowed with the duty to protect a Yoshiro, a heavenly and divine maiden who must “purge and cleanse” villages of “defilement” and then bring peace to the legendary Mount Kafuku again. The gameplay is divided into two different parts.
‘Octopath Traveler II’
Developed and published by Square Enix, in cooperation with Acquire for the development, “Octopath Traveler II” is the sequel to “Octopath Traveler” from 2018 and the third entry in the series after the prequel game on mobile, “Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent” from 2020. However, “Traveler II” is unique because it features a new cast of characters and settings separate from previous games.
Just with the first “Octopath Traveler,” the game plays as a traditional JRPG or Japanese role-playing game. You get to move between eight separate characters, each with their respective purpose for navigating the in-game world.
‘Stardew Valley’
Ah, who would get tired of playing “Stardew Valley,” right? Available on Xbox Game Pass now, “Stardew Valley” is a fun farm life simulation RPG where you take the role of a character who inherits the dilapidated farm of their deceased grandfather. In your farm now, Stardew Valley, you must develop it. You can maintain your crops, fish, replant trees, save for strawberries, and so much more.
‘The Case Of The Golden Idol’
Launched in 2022, “The Case of the Golden Idol” is an adventure and a puzzle video game developed by Latvian independent developers. They aimed to create a detective video game inspired and influenced by 1990s adventure games’ visual presentation.
“The Case of the Golden Idol” features a narrative spanning four decades during the 1700s wherein players must collect clues to piece together characters, evidence, and concepts to provide context to the story.
Other games you can play on Xbox Game Pass in September 2024, among others, are:
- “Chants Of Sennaar”
- “Cities: Skylines”
- “Citizen Sleeper”
- “Doom”
- “Hi-Fi Rush”
- “Slay The Spire”
- “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge”
- “Vampire Survivors”
- “Yakuza: Like A Dragon”
Wrapping Up
The Xbox Game Pass is Xbox’s subscription service, which was launched in 2017. It allows you to download and play games on your Xbox or Microsoft Windows PCs from a rotating library. The video games remain accessible as long as you have an active subscription. Subscribers also receive exclusive discounts on games and their respective downloadable content.
Xbox Game Pass updates its roster of games every month. Although just one game is officially included for October 2024, there should be others coming your way, hopefully.
