If there’s a phrase to describe the 2025 game release calendar, it is that it’s “most wanted.” Several gamers are also saving up stacks of money to own the games they want next year. The biggest game is “GTA VI,” for sure, but there are more. Here are the best new games launching in 2025 for your PC.

‘GTA VI’ – Q3/Q4

Fans have waited long enough for the sixth installment in the iconic “Grand Theft Auto” series, so you can now imagine what will happen, at least online, if Rockstar Games fails to fulfill its promise. But maybe it won’t since the official trailer is out, and a dedicated website is ready once it officially launches. Only, there is no release date yet except that it’s unveiling in the third or fourth quarter of the year. Technically, that’s still around a year from now. Oops.

Nevertheless, the official synopsis has been revealed, and the game will return to Vice City following the story of a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired crime couple, Lucia and her male partner.

‘Sid Meier’s Civilization VII’ – February 11th

But perhaps while you are waiting for “GTA VI,” you can get a dose of other games releasing earlier, such as “Sid Meier’s Civilization VII” from the award-winning strategy game series.

This video game is of the 4X type. This means that you will oversee and manage the growth of a civilization from its early settlements to its advanced culture. You’ll be able to utilize several uniques, representing the military and the civilian, explore the map, and grow your civilization through building cities, discovering cultures, harnessing technology, gathering resources, and defeating threats from foreign civilizations attempting to threaten your development. You can win through peaceful settlements or a full military domination of the world. Moreover, this game will let you choose leaders and civilizations independently.

‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ – Within 2025

Some games you will read about here don’t have an official release date yet, except that their developers say they will be released in 2025. One of these is “Doom: The Dark Ages.” This prequel to 2016’s “Doom” doesn’t have its official gameplay and synopsis yet, except for the premise. As a prequel to “Doom,” it follows the rise of the Doom Slayer, the protagonist, given the responsibility of being his kingdom’s last fighting hope against Hell’s forces. Enjoy the game in a techno-medieval setting.

‘Monster Hunter Wilds’ – February 2025

In a world growing with virtual and augmented reality, Capcom is never fazed or dazed, as it is unleashing its latest monster-slaying role-playing video game “Monster Hunter Wilds” this February. Featuring beautiful environments and a refined combat system, this game is an action RPG played from a third-person perspective. Take on the role of a custom Hunter who journeys to the “Forbidden Lands,” odd as it is an unpopulated landmass dotted with monsters. The goal is to find a missing expedition party at the cost of fighting with monsters.

‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ – February 14th

Exactly on Valentine’s Day, the famous historical game series will be back in the form of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” but this time, they’re headed for endless discoveries in Japan. You think of “shadows,” you think of ninjas, right?

That’s almost right. Set in this East Asian country in the 1700s, toward the end of the Sengoku period in real human history, “Shadows” will focus on the struggle of the Assassin Brotherhood, which has been going on for a thousand years. The brotherhood is known to fight for peace and liberty, but they’re struggling against the Templar Order, which aims for peace through control.

You can play from the perspective of two protagonists. First is a female shinobi named Fujibayashi Naoe, and the other is an African samurai named Yasuke. They move differently and showcase a unique playstyle, allowing you to enjoy the game in your own multiple ways.

‘Slay The Spire 2’ – Within 2025

“Slay the Spire” is a roguelike deck-building video game developed by an indie studio. Here, you attempt to climb a spire of several floors built through procedural generation. You play as one of the characters who also battle various enemies and bosses. The combat happens through a collectible card game-based system. You can earn new cards as rewards for succeeding combats or other means. It is an authentic deck-building game as you know it. Now, in 2025, the second installment is unfolding, though no official particular date yet.

‘Avowed’ – February 2025

Obsidian Entertainment, the company behind games like “The Outer Worlds” and “Pillars of Eternity,” will revolutionize your gaming perspectives with a brand-new video game titled “Avowed.” This action role-playing game allows you to cast magic, as well as use melee weapons and firearms to defeat your enemies. You can use various in-game spells, such as freezing your enemies on ice or trapping them. It’s a video game you don’t want to miss.

‘Death Stranding 2: On The Beach’ – Within 2025

From Kojima Productions and Sony, “Death Stranding 2: On The Beach” doesn’t have its official release date yet, but there couldn’t be more official than its voice cast, from Elle Fanning to Norman Reedus.

The second installment in the game series happens in the United States, following a cataclysmic event that has caused destructive creatures to step onto Earth and wreak havoc. You control Reedus’ Sam Porter Bridges, a courier given the responsibility to deliver supplies to isolated colonies and reconnect with them via a wireless communications network.

‘Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’ – February 2025

This game is also a popular medieval role-playing sequel that is touted to promise an even deeper historical experience than its predecessor. “Kingdom Come: Deliverance” is a journey through the mysteries of the Holy Roman Empire, particularly in the Kingdom of Bohemia, the Imperial State of the Empire.

Those are just some of the biggest games you can experience in 2025. As you can see, the game calendar is generally until February 2025 for now. The list will be populated soon. That’s pretty much it. Stick around here on PVP Live for more gaming stories. Happy weekend, gamers!
