Anyone wanting to experience Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War multiplayer mode will have a couple of chances this month. Activision has confirmed that it is making the game’s multiplayer free to play for a limited time, providing fans access to a myriad of content and modes to give them a glimpse of what the full game has to offer.
The first Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War multiplayer free week begins today and will conclude on December 21. It provides fans access to the 2v2 Gunfight mode which was recently added to the game as part of the massive Season 1 update. Players will also have access to the Team Deathmatch and Domination modes, as well as check out a few featured playlists.
The featured playlists for the first free week of Call of Duty Black Ops multiplayer include Nuketown Holiday 24/7, a holiday-inspired variant of the famous Nuketown map as well as Raid the Mall, featuring the Raid and Pine maps.
Immediately after the first free week of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War multiplayer ends, another one will begin which will run from December 21 to December 24, with new content available. For the second free week of the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, players will have access to the fan-favorite Prop Hunt mode, Fireteam: Dirty Bomb, and Combined Arms: Hardpoint. Certainly, the first free week will let fans enjoy classic multiplayer while the second free week will be focused on large scale maps and modes.
Call of Duty has a long-running history of giving time-limited access to its multiplayer, so it’s not shocking to see the practice persist with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. It’s something that the developers do to try and persuade fans who haven’t purchased the game yet to take the plunge. Though now that Warzone is integrated to Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War as well, perhaps more fans will be making the jump sooner rather than later.
For players who want to take advantage of the latest Call of Duty Warzone Battle Pass, they will need to get the full Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War game. This is because all of the content unlocked in the season’s battle pass can be used in both the multiplayer and battle royale title.
Aside from this, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War guns are now available in Call of Duty Warzone as well, so battle royale players can play the multiplayer to level up their weapons quicker, and as a result, given them faster access to attachments they will need to make the best loadouts for the battle royale.
